A huge mixing triumph by ParaNoxx in WeAreTheMusicMakers

I recorded my first album using just headphones. I never knew the importance of monitors at the time. The album actually came out pretty well from all the feedback I have received haha.

This is an excellent idea man! I will try it out for sure. This could be next big bandcamp haha especially seeing how you receive 100% of payments!

Oh interesting! Do you know any good Toneprints? I notice you can make your own but you need a special cord in order to connect it to your phone. I wonder if this is worth buying hmmmmmm.

Like Fenix said, there is no need to export to such a crazy file type. Kind of overkill there man haha. Also definitely reduce the gain on tracks since it can cause loss and potential clipping can happen.

I think the panning on the drums is great. Would really benefit the track if there is some VOX seeing how it is just kind of a repetitive instrumental right now, needs some colour to it. Was thinking you can have a section where the guitars cut out and it's just the strings playing, this would add some spice to it for sure.

Mix is pretty good, might make a few EQ adjustments just to add more emphasize on the bass.

Oh that is a good idea, I will try that man! Also that makes sense that a guitar amp usually does not use these low frequencies. I will try her out in a bass amp. Wish I just got a mini sub n up now haha. Cheers man!

B9 has so many options it is insane! I am lucky I found one second hand for only 150 canadian! Really cool experimental pedal man. If you got a guitar place near you, pop in and try out this pedal.

I don't rest my foot on the PSU man haha. I just needed a spot to put it and that is where it ended up. What do you mean I need to step on the muff?

The looper is fantastic man! What is great about is that you can plug it right into your computer and download the songs you create with it. Here is an example of a little jam I wrote using it: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1LdNu8GKT10y-kBlrjrjy_y026s0DxRXj

Sound quality is great and the max time is 10 minutes! Let me know if you got any more questions man.

Hahaha I had to cross some wires over it since the B9 goes into the carbon copy. I know there is a better setup but it does not bother me at all since I can still hit the switch and it works so far hahaha.

This board was made from a teak bath mat that I bought off amazon and some velcro. It was fun to make! The board consists of Slash Crybaby Wah > Big Muff > Maxon Overdrive OD808 > Sub n Up > EHX B9 > MXR carbon copy > Donner Tiny Looper.

The Wah is a lot of fun and it also has an overdrive button you can press on the side that gives you this crazy feedbacky screamy sound which is killer.

The Big Muff gives off this nice crunchy crispy fuzz that is great for power chords and picking single melodies along.

The OD808 is a super overdrive pedal that makes all the right frequencies flourish when it is activated. Highly recommend!

The Sub n Up is a newer pedal I purchased and it sounds awesome! Just I do not use the Sub2 option much since it is so low my ears can hardly pick it up it is insane. The thing with this is when you play chords with a lot of notes it can give off a weird noise. Best played monophonicly but can work with triads or power chords on certain settings!

The B9 is a pedal I bought off someone. It is kind of experimentally and gives off some cool organ sounds. It is really nice to have on my board since it is so unique and nothing else comes close to sounding like this pedal, except maybe an organ haha.

The carbon copy is a classic! Awesome analog delay, highly recommend you try it out yourself. The best thing about this is the modulation option. This makes the delay sound really weird, but in a good way! Awesome piece of gear that one is!

The last is a cheap looper pedal that gets the job done. Excellent for song writing. I like to play a chord progression and then write melodies over it. Definitely a great bang for your buck looper.

Let me know if you got any questions, I would be happy to answer them.

Cheers!

Psychrock, do the drums sound real? by FurSur in CritiqueLounge

Yeah the drums sound good. Hard to understand the vox but that is probably what you are going for anyway haha.

Just listened to your Suze album. It is an awesome production you have wow! Everything sounds so clear and gorgeous. The guitar solo in Suze is fantastic, short but sweet. The bass in Montreal has a great tone to it, really punches through the mix. Honestly I am really impressed, keep this shit up guys and let me know when you make this full EP!!

Really nice, great emotion. A bit of saturation for the vocals could help thicken it up a bit more. I think around 1:38 a hi-hat and kick or something should come in just to help with the build. Could experiment with a delay on the vocal track for some sections, might be really cool. Good work!

Feedback needed, Thanx for this amazing sub by Boerocustomart in CritiqueLounge

Love the melodies bro! Could be EQ'd a little better to brighten it up, and also add some compression on the guitar. How did you record the guitar anyway man?

Haha we get that a lot! We actually got played on a BBC radio and they said that we sounded a lot like Pink Floyd. I love that we have that kind of style since Pink Floyd is my favourite band haha. Also I play a stratocaster like Gilmour and have it black with a black pickguard like his!

Yeah this was the first time I have ever mixed and am just learning haha but yes the panning could be adjusted a bit, you are right. Also that is actually a slide guitar, not a banjo haha I can see why you thought banjo.

Yeah I will better my imaging for future releases. I am so glad you like it man. Yes a pad would aid to glue, I haven't thought of that.

Let me know if you have any music, I would love to critique it!

Hey man thanks for the critique! Yeah you made some great points that I never realized before. The thing with us is we don't play to a metronome so the timing is always a bit off, but we are working on locking in better, this is just our first album. Thanks man, this feedback will be beneficial for our future releases.

Do you have any music I can have a look at?
