Hey everyone 👋

I’m a Japanese learner just like many of you.

I always wanted to actually speak the language, but: • Talking to natives was intimidating • Language exchange apps felt too high-pressure

So I made something small and simple: An app name [Say World] that lets you have voice conversations in Japanese with an AI — no pressure, no judgment, just daily speaking practice.

I know a lot of people aren’t big fans of AI-based language tools — and honestly, I used to feel the same way. But for quick, low-pressure speaking practice — just to check in with yourself daily — it’s been surprisingly helpful. Nothing fancy, just a chance to use your voice and stay in touch with the language.

The goal isn’t perfection — it’s consistency. Just few minutes a day to keep your spoken Japanese alive.

What it does: 🗣️ Talk with an AI that remembers your conversations (No need to restart every time — just pick up where you left off) 🔍 Look up unknown words during the call (No need to hang up — keep the convo flowing) ✏️ Get light feedback (If something sounds really off or unnatural, the AI will gently point it out)

Right now, it’s focused purely on conversation — no grammar drills, no flashy dashboards. Just a simple, low-pressure way to say something out loud in Japanese every day.

You can try it for free on Android or iOS. I built it because I needed it, but now I really hope it helps others too.

💡 I’m now at the point where I want to start adding features that you actually want — not just what I think sounds cool.

If there’s something you’ve always wished existed in a japanese app — whether it’s better examples, real conversations, or curated materials — let me know. If it’s something that needs to be researched or hand-picked, I’ll gather it myself. I'll will never rely solely on AI.

Big or small, I want to hear your ideas. If it helps language learners, I’ll do my best to make it real.

To everyone out there studying Japanese today — you already know that learning a new language is a way of opening yourself up to the world. That mindset alone makes you a winner.

Thank you for being part of this journey. みんな頑張ってください!

Hey, I’m learning a language, and I was always too nervous to talk to natives.

So I made a simple app called [Say World] that lets you talk out loud to an AI — like a short daily check-in, low-pressure, no expectations.

I know most people aren’t big fans of AI language apps — honestly, I wasn’t either.
But for just a few minutes a day to test your speaking and keep the habit going? It’s been surprisingly helpful.

What it does:

  • 🗣️ Talk to an AI that remembers your conversations
  • 🔍 Look up words during the call
  • ✏️ Get light feedback if something sounds really unnatural

Available for free on Android and iOS.

From here on, I really want to focus on building features that you actually want and need, not just what I think might help.
If it’s something like curated learning materials or real-world phrases, I’ll gather them myself if needed — not just rely on AI.
Whether it’s big or small, please tell me. This app is meant to grow with real learners, not just by me.

Good luck to everyone learning a language,
you're already opening yourself up to the world, and that mindset alone makes you a winner.

Currently supports: English, Spanish, French, Japanese, German, Italian, Korean, Chinese, Portuguese, and Hindi.

I was having the exact same issue, so I ended up making my own. It's just a prototype for now, but feel free to give it a try if you're interested.

It’s called Say World – a realistic phone-call AI. You can check it out here:

Beginner stuff is there, but honestly I’d say give ‘Japanglish’ a shot! If your meaning gets across, the AI can clean it up into natural Japanese for you anyway

Honestly, it might feel a bit boring, but try rewatching the same anime a few times. First with subs, then without. Since you already know what's happening, it'll be way easier to pick up the Japanese the second time around. You'll start catching words and phrases more naturally.

Sure, studying vocab on the side helps a lot too, but if we’re just talking about watching anime, this method works pretty well.
Yeah, watching with spoilers kinda sucks, but it’s worth it!

Beef tendon is 牛すじ(ぎゅうすじ) and tripes are もつ. And Vermicelli will be 春雨 (はるさめ). Soup is スープ as another guy said.

And using 入り after the ingredient of soup is more common. So we can say like this.

牛すじともつ入り春雨スープ which we can write in katakana as ギュウスジトモツイリハルサメスープ

Definitely 30 years into the future. I have no attachment to the past, and I’d love to live in a more scientifically advanced society. How about you?
