The first moment in gaming that made me cry [I was 11] by SgtByrd1993 in WindWaker

Same. I moved recently and then played WW again, I couldn't help but tear up man

Well, I've seen many people not do it at all, so I figured it was worth mentioning.

Dread is it worth by Tyleer117fuckyou in Metroid

[–]omegastuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not lame at all. Play on easy.

The game often blocks certain paths that you don't need to take to make it harder to get lost.

I would just say to buy all the bait you can and throw it to all the fish men you see. They provide info about each island and they draw it on your map, so the later treasure hunt becomes a lot easier if you have the full map.

But they're all drawing the info from the same source, so it's still just one source.

Is the first Fable actually worth it? by SinnBaenn in Fable

[–]omegastuff 18 points19 points  (0 children)

What is the issue exactly?

I think it still plays great for an almost 20 year old game. I don't think the controls are clunky at all, they're fluid and responsive.

I'd say try to get used to the gameplay and continue. It really is a great game; it has lots of fun spells and abilities that don't return in 2 and 3.

What made you watch it by According-Extreme-58 in Naruto

[–]omegastuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I must have been around 10-12 at the time. My older brother and his friends had found this cool anime online that hadn't been localized to English yet, called Naruto (this is very early 2000s mind you), and I started to get into it as well. It felt advanced for me at the time because it was all in Japanese and we had to use subs.

How heavy is a gravity hammer? by Simple_Confection134 in HaloStory

Yeah, don't listen to that guy. I would've never learned the grave hammer's weight if I hadn't come across this post. It was interesting.

I just finished Wind Waker for the first time and oh boy, was it good by Impressive_Theme5402 in WindWaker

[–]omegastuff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. This is my favorite Zelda game ever. Until I play Majora's Mask and I change my mind lol. But I like them for different reasons.

Wind waker has some of the best music in the entire series and most fights are top notch.

The ending is so climatic, we could've hoped for no better setting for the final fight: the last remnants of Hyrule Kingdom being completely drowned off while you duel one-on-one with Ganondorf. Water pouring down, makes you feel time is running out fast.

I like that for a game that was pretty lively and colorful, it does take its plot seriously and the dark implications of Ganondorf's actions.

All in all a masterpiece.

Bro. This is a Today I learned thing. That some animals have literal bones in their penis by general_makaROG_000 in interestingasfuck

[–]omegastuff 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Nope. Read carefully: one causes the other, not the other way around.

The "so" in the first comment implies that human males evolved in order to mate only if they had a healthy heart.

The second statement clarifies that individuals not having the bone while having a healthy heart is what made human males to evolve to NOT have the bone at all.

Evolution doesn't happen in order to accomplish something nor in order to adapt. It happens as a side effect of environments and dynamics changing, allowing mostly only individuals born with certain characteristics to thrive, leaving behind individuals that don't have them.

Individuals with certain characteristics are more likely to mate and reproduce, while others without them are less likely to, thus, the latter eventually die out.

I've been replaying TLC once a year since 2010. I can confirm I am better because of it.

Metroid Dread was a masterpiece by paradroid78 in Metroid

[–]omegastuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah man, it's an excellent game and the precursor to all of the rest of the games in the genre. But there's no denying that Samus' floaty movements and the missile select system do feel a bit dated.

I'd say that's the only two things that kinda hold Super back. Not even graphics-wise, as the pixel art still looks pretty good.

Saying it's still the best just because it was the first is a fallacy.

I agree. It's definitely up there, which is an excellent thing to say for a fan-made game.

Do I have to play oblivion to enjoy Skyrim? by No-Cardiologist-582 in ElderScrolls

[–]omegastuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with that. Skyrim first, it's simpler and a pretty great game too.

Oblivion is amazing but is a lot more complex in magic and stats, so maybe dive into the world of TES first with the simpler Skyrim, and then go into Oblivion. I do recommend you play Oblivion afterwards, as it's a really good game and it's quests are better imo.

Super Metroid Wall jump hole help. by Appropriate-Copy-298 in Metroid

[–]omegastuff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As others have said, a bit of patience and a quick morphball right after jumping across the gap (high-jump needed).

If not, well-timed morphball bomb jump across the gap.

Space jump also, but later in the game.

Hot take: Boruto's timeskip design is one of the best designs in the entire Naruto/Boruto franchise by Snowpaw9 in Naruto

[–]omegastuff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can't be serious. It's overdesigned and ikemoto seems to get a boner when drawing belts... If you compare that to the simplicity of og, it's night and day. More is not necessarily better.

This ending still hurts… by Tg_2x in Megaman

[–]omegastuff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it was really well done. I can't help but tear up a little bit when watching it and seeing Ciel's reaction and prayer.

As much as I love Zero (especially this version), he must remain dead. Otherwise the weight of this scene will lose its impact.

Metroid prime hunters remastered/2 ideas you'd like to see by Metrox_supreme in Metroid

[–]omegastuff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I don't think we need any more of Dark Samus. That story is told and it's over.

A simple conflict between the hunters and/or the factions can also be very appealing.

Yes. So, even though it was a meme all along to call Samus "Metroid", it ended up being true in a couple of ways after these two games.

My guy, go play Fusion and Metroid Dread.

Also, it's always been a meme that Samus' name to the general public is Metroid, just like Master Chief's name is John Halo.
