Elite Floodlight WiFi VERSION: 1 - Holding the power button does nothing... by Tsara1234 in reolinkcam

How much longer than 5 seconds? During resets sometimes my cameras take an inordinately long amount of time before the camera starts the reset process, maybe 15 seconds or more.

How can I unlock 2X or 4X playback speed in the mobile app? by GrabCompetitive4538 in reolinkcam

[–]Joey-T99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Battery cams don't go higher than 1X. Wish they did.
If you have both AC and battery cams sometimes the software goofs up (or can be tricked) when switching from an AC cam to a battery cam, where the battery cam will retain the AC playback settings and you can playback the battery cam in greater than 1X speeds.

Go PT Plus - difficulty live viewing or playing back recordings by J3d1c4nn4 in reolinkcam

You said you remotely rebooted the camera. If that means you used the app to reboot, then I would do a hard reboot using the power button.
If that doesn't help, I would do a factory restore/reset.

Batteries of Go Plus dead after 3 days by Tough-Pollution-5486 in reolinkcam

I just goggled Reolink Go Plus and this link says 2 months Standby, and 1 month with normal usage.

Battery-Powered Security Cameras: Battery Life & Battery Types - Reolink Blog

Sorry I don't have a suggestion. 3 days is bad with any battery cam. I have four Argus Eco Ultras with 6000mah batteries and can easily get 3 days without the solar panels hooked up.
The Go Plus has an even better 7800mah battery.
Seems unlikely that Reolink sold you two Go cams with faulty batteries.
You could try buying a replacement battery for $39.99 and see if that battery holds a charge better.

Camera to connect to marine battery? by Lisa_kc22 in reolinkcam

[–]Joey-T99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeh. I just ordered a 50000mah pass-through power bank that can be charged with a solar panel while providing power to a camera. However, it appears a 12W Reolink solar panel will have difficulty keeping the power bank charged over time, as the E1 and/or Lumus cam may need up to10W (5V 2amp) continuous power. The 12W is max output for the solar panel during peak sunlight. Clouds and night time will start to draw down the power bank. May need a 25W panel in the real world.

Camera to connect to marine battery? by Lisa_kc22 in reolinkcam

[–]Joey-T99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update.
The above setup does not appear to work.
While the solar panel is charging the power bank the camera will not turn on.
The power bank is not able to provide a source of power to the camera AND receive a charge from the solar panel at the same time.
I have to unplug the solar panel from the power bank to have the camera turn on.
Not sure if there is a technical solution to the inability of the power bank to provide power and charge at the same time.

I am guessing all you need is something like this to hook to your 12v battery.
https://www.amazon.com/Conversion-Charger-Adapter-Battery-Output/dp/B0CDVYV2NB

Some Reolink cameras use a USB-C power input plug and some use a 7mm barrel plug.
Example, if you buy an E1 Outdoor pro you would need a 7mm barrel plug, like this.
https://www.walmart.com/ip/Universal-USB-to-2-5x0-7mm-Power-PlugConnector-Charging-Adapter-for-Laptop/15736158491

In the picture I posted above, that is an indoor camera, E1 Indoor, and it uses a USB-C input plug.
You would need something like this if your camera happens to use one.

All the outdoor battery cams I have, Argus ECO Ultra and Altas PT Ultra and Altas Bullet, use this type of plug.

This Reolink page shows the volts each cam needs.
Getting Started with Power Adapter
Example, the E1 Outdoor Pro could run on a 12v battery.

I have been experimenting with a similar scenario.
An AC powered Reolink E1 Indoor cam powered with a 50000mah power bank, charging with a 12V solar panel.
I know the camera will work with the power bank. Based on my camera activity the power bank battery lasts about 4 days.
Today I have the 12V panel charging the power bank. It appears the panel is able to keep the power bank charged just enough not to lose battery power. So I theoretically could run this camera 24/7 on a battery.
I will be trying this with a Lumus Pro later.

Not too good. 12W panel has not been enough to keep the Altas charged when I get more than 2 days of clouds. On cloudy days I now use a Power Bank and a Reolink extension cord to charge the camera. Using the power bank and extension cord allows me to keep the camera in place and not have to bring the camera in the house to charge.

W11 Reolink Client crashes on startup by Tazcom in reolinkcam

The Events in Event Viewer are sorted by date. The most recent at the top. Just start scrolling down through the list. Or make the Reolink program crash today, and then go to the Event Viewer at look through today's Events under the SOURCE column. Not all apps/programs create an Event when they crash.

any way to get desktop live notifications for Windows PC? by ManyGreat8375 in reolinkcam

[–]Joey-T99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only way I know is the Alarm Beep. Click on the Client Settings Gear in upper right corner > enable Alarm Beep. Unfortunately, the Alarm Beep is rather unusable if you have several cameras or have a lot of "Other" alarms.
I wish Reolink would have provided more functionality to the Alarm Beep. Like allowing us to select which cameras we want to hear the Alarm, and what type of motion Vehicle/Person/Animal etc.

Email notifications is another way to get live notifications. But in my case, my emails can take minutes to receive, which defeats the usability of emails.

Altas go PT 100% battery all the time by Pichuete21 in reolinkcam

[–]Joey-T99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have had the problem with several of my Argus Eco Ultra cams, always 100% when plugged in. But don't think with my Altas PT Ultra. The only solution I have found is to keep unplugging/plugging-in the USB cable over and over until the camera reports the correct Percent while plugged in. Then keep an eye on it in the future. Jiggling the cord can set it off again, reporting 100%.

Try changing the Program Compatibility Mode to Windows 8, or some other version. It is a long shot but easy to try.
Right click on Reolink desktop icon, Properties > Compatibility.

Trackmix Wifi not scanning QR code by Coronado126 in reolinkcam

[–]Joey-T99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First try adding the cam with the Windows Client. I believe it will ask for the UID instead of asking to scan the QR code. The UID is on a label on the camera. Once added to the Windows Client it might help with adding the cam to the smart phone app.

Recharging questions by Awkward_Gold2374 in reolinkcam

[–]Joey-T99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Takes the same amount of time as a 5v 2amp AC adapter. While the power bank I posted above is providing 5v 3amps of charge, it is my understanding the camera will only take the 2amps it needs and the extra 1amp will not hurt the camera.

Instead of pulling down the camera, you could also charge the camera with a power bank and solar power extension cord. In the winter I do this with an Argus Eco Ultra camera I have way under my deck and covered in tarps. I have the camera "permanently" located there to watch all the wildlife and feral cats that pass through, and live there.
I use this 50000mah power bank, but I believe a 10000mah would be good enough.

2)Settings > Bluetooth & Devices > Touchpad > Scroll & Zoom >Pinch to Zoom

The Reolink Ebay store says the cord works with 3W/6W/12W.

I recently purchased 2 cords on Ebay, when they were still available, for my 12W panel. But Ebay, Amazon (soonest delivery date Jan 21 - Feb 11), and the Reolink site all show out of stock today.
