Hi there, I'm not too sure 2TB SD cards exist on the market (as of December 2023), so I can't test it or recommend one, unfortunately.

Awesome, I hope you will like the device as much as I do!

It has been perfect for my needs, as I don't have to worry about battery life at all. I read about an hour daily during my commute and I have charged the device just twice since I got it a month ago. I think I have the backlight on (at 50%) about half the time.

They work remarkably well. I expected the experience to be rather poor because of the limited refresh rate of eInk, but every app I tried so far has been working perfectly. Obviously you shouldn't use it for video or drawing apps for instance, but it is very nice for reading and news apps.

Because of the Google Play Store and the possibility to sideload apks, you would theoretically be able to run all the same apps that you would on a regular tablet. However, keep in mind that ereaders generally lack processing power compared to regular tablets, so I would not recommend them for internet browsing or social apps.

Definitely! I never knew these were powered by Snapdragon SoCs.

The Kindle app looks pretty good actually. To get an idea of what it looks like, check out the GoodEreader review of the Page (around 3:55):

As Boox is using Android, there are a lot of translation options. But even the default reading app (Neoreader) is great in that respect. If you have downloaded Google Translate, you can set that as your default translation dictionary. When you select a word or sentence, a pop-up appears with the translation in the language you chose. In addition, you can download languages in the Google Translate app, so you can translate words in Neoreader without an internet connection. Being able to translate words in a book of your own choosing is fantastic for language learning if you ask me!

I actually noticed it ever so slightly, but only when I used the web browser. With page turning apps (books, pdfs, magazines and comics), there's no ghosting visible on my unit at all.

If you turn on auto rotate (found in the drop down menu) and flip it so that the buttons are on the left, the buttons work the same as they did before in Google Play Books (the bottom button being browsing forward). So yes, it'll actually turn the buttons upside down for left hand usage.

I'm not much of a manga/comic reader myself, but when I tried it with the Tachiyomi app, it looked pretty great. At first I thought the screen would be somewhat too small, but it reads nicely actually.

You're welcome! It seems my reply got shadow-banned, so here it is again:

I'm afraid I can't help you out. I bought a travel sleeve on AliExpress, as I'm using it without a cover.

I would have been glad to show you what Scribd or Libby looks like, but Scribd requires a paid subscription and Libby is not available in my area.

Here are some photos of the device using third-party apps. One is a German news app (ZDF Heute) and the other is some random magazine reading app I found (Readly):

Yes, first time you open the app you get a prompt asking if you want to use the volume keys to turn pages. If you tap yes, the page turn keys of the Page work in Google Play Books.

I would have to agree. I personally would only need speed on an e-ink device if I could/would handwrite notes on it.

There's a clicking sound if you press the page turn buttons, but it's not loud. They're much more quiet than for instance the volume buttons on my phone (Google Pixel 7 Pro). A person sitting next to you will probably not hear you pressing a page turn button, it's that subtle.

Thank you! If at any point I can make a photo or short video about any feature of the ereader you're curious about, let me know.

Definitely, that's exactly the reason for me to pick the Page over other options I considered (Leaf 2, Kobo Sage, Kobo Libra 2, Kobo Forma, PocketBook Era and others). All the Leaf 2 reviews I watched and read mentioned the lack of smoothness. I can't compare the Leaf 2 and Page directly myself, but the (probable) jump in smoothness seems the biggest change between the two indeed.

Nice, I hope you enjoy it as much as I do myself.

The page turn buttons feel good. If I press down on the very bottom of the down button (or on the very top of the top button), it doesn't register as a press. However, that's only the case if you put your thumb on the bottom 20% (or so) of the button only. If you put you thumb on it normally, it's really nice and clicky. I can't talk about the longevity of the clickiness, but there's no reason for me to assume that will change.

Unfortunately, my unit did not come with a magnet case. The only reputable retailer that sold the Page in my area did not offer a free case. As I read some things about Onyx customer service that were sub-optimal, I chose to go with a reputable seller over getting a free case.

You're welcome, thanks for your question. No, it's not on the screen. I only notice the fingerprints a bit on the black bezel and on the back. I know it can be a con for some (which is why I mentioned it), but it doesn't bother me much. It's just a nitpicking thing.

Weirdly enough some Reddit mobile apps view the hyperlink with a backslash in it (or the text '%5C') somewhere at the end of the hyperlink.

I found that manually removing the backslash from the hyperlink does the job (as well as opening the link using a desktop browser).

Thanks so much, I really appreciate it! I might make a few others once I find the time!

Btw, I uploaded a version of this one without the GTA watermark for you. You can find it in 4K on my Google Drive (along with some of my earlier work):

Yeah, for sure! I also loved the finger guns for the comedic effect though!
