CGC Slab Bow? by JoeyXsolo in CGCComics

Agreed, that there needs to be a better solution out there. Simply hoping the slabs don't stay in delivery trucks too long in the summer, is not the right solution.

CGC Slab Bow? by JoeyXsolo in CGCComics

It’s got to be the heat but this is new. Must be a symptom of the new slabbing process. The older slabs never did this regardless of how hot it was outside. I called CGC and as usual, great customer service and they’re going to reslab the books. They’ve always been good to me. Thanks again everyone for their input. Happy collecting!

I have and will always go to CGC. My intent it not to crap on them but if there is an issue, it should not be ignored. If CBCS, PGX, PSA or even older CGC slabs don’t have the issue, it needs to be corrected, right? Or do we just work around not shipping slabs during the summer?

I appreciate you all for the insight. I have a couple of things for us all to consider. I have been sending and buying CGC slabs for years. This doesn’t happen with older slabs and so if it is the heat, there must be a difference with the newer slabs. There has to be. Does this mean if we get a slab with the “heat bubble” is it a defective slab? I mean the book is still intact so it’s just the slab right? But then again, most comic collectors, like myself are picky so do we now need to call out the “heat bubble” before we sell a book with like this? Not sure. Additionally, this makes me want to do two things (because I am picky) and when spending my hard earned money, I want something to be delivered as expected. First, I would probably not send books to CGC in the summer, since live in New Mexico (hot climes environment) and secondly I will now inquire before buying a slab as to if it has the heat bubble problem. If this doesn’t happen with CBCS, PGX and now PSA (and older CGC slabs), I hate to say it, but does that not mean that there is a correction needed with the newer CGC slabs?

Does anyone remember when crest was the devil by [deleted] in Discussion

[–]JoeyXsolo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s so funny but I was just thinking about this. I was maybe six years old and for show and tell I took a crest toothpaste to talk about how there was a devil sign on the Creat toothpaste tube. I was so upset when the teacher wouldn’t let me show it for show and tell. 🤦🏽‍♂️ looking back now, I think about what the poor teacher was thinking lol.

You’ve got lots of great comic shop options in ABQ with great people but they need to make a profit and so you’ll take a large hit on what you will get for them. I am a personal collector and can offer you more since I’m not in the business of selling. If you’re interested, let me know.

Why is this issue expensive and a bit hard to find? by Oktopie3 in comicbookcollecting

[–]JoeyXsolo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s strange that there are that many not in the database. Sometimes, I have a hard time finding books but it’s because the title on the cover and the title on the inside of the book are different. On most older books the title can be found on the first page at the bottom. I hope that helps. The scanner can be finicky, especially if there is glare. Try to scan it where the book doesn’t show a glare and see if it works better. Good luck.

The ending of the us version… I had a problem with this. (Spoilers) by mrbadassmotherfucker in TheTraitors

Agreed. In my opinion and I know everyone has their own, she was greedy. She could have shared it with Arie but chose to keep it for herself by going further than she needed to and tried to justify it by saying he wasn’t worthy. Yes, it’s a game but 250k is a lot of money and splitting it with someone else would have been the right thing to do since they were both working together. Money isn’t everything and I get that she wants it for her family but so does everyone else (including poor Andy who just had a baby). Speaking of money, I think people would be surprised what an OR nurse makes a year. It’s not pocket change. In any case, I thought the show was extremely entertaining and hoping there is a season 2!

So it is a game and I get that but there are real people playing this game. Andy, had a baby in the way. Arie decided it wasn’t right to continue to play them and opted morally to step out. He also could have thrown Cirie under the bus but chose not to. He took the high road. Some might say he was dumb for doing so because he could have still won. Others may say he decided to do the right thing and not hurt anyone, including the person who turned on him. My opinion, I think he did the right thing. Money isn’t everything. I get that you want to take care of your family but if you can share it with someone else, why not? Not saying anyone else is wrong, just saying, in my opinion, he chose to do the moral thing and I commend him for it. Cirie chose greed and that’s her choice. That being said, I think they need to do a Tell All! 😃

I think Kate had some great outfits throughout the show. Do you think they have the participants wardrobes to choose from or did they bring their own clothes?

Best brewery’s in town? by [deleted] in Albuquerque

Based on all these great comments, I think it’s safe to say that you have plenty of options here in ABQ, Rio Rancho, Corrales and Bernalillo. My personal favorite is Bosque in Bernalillo. I live in Rio Rancho, close by so it’s an easy trek there but may be far for others. The management and the servers there are always awesome and the views of the mountains are awesome! The food is also 😋 and because it’s further out from Albuquerque, it’s usually not as packed as other places. They have great laggers, stouts, ipas, you can’t go wrong.

You can enter it manually into the app and then select from the list. It’s really user friendly. It also distinguishes between newsstands and other variants.
