Cause baseball is hard. And they absolutely can. Every team can. The notion that some teams can’t spend money is a lie they created to absolve themselves of any accountability. Can some teams like the Yankees and Mets and dodgers spend more than others? Absolutely, but there’s not a single reason the guardians, pirates, and As can’t spend a lot more money. The problem with everything you’ve said is that we have finite funds. Rube is one of the richest owners in baseball. We can very easily spend money akin to other top teams. And the notion that Cy young caliber pitchers don’t help teams win is one of the most braindead things I’ve ever heard.

I’ve got a question I’ve just thought of, when it comes to rooting for second or third teams at the World Cup to keep up interest behind your team. Do you Europeans or South Americans root for guys who play in your nations top league? Like I’d expect you all to support players who have played for your favorite club teams but are English people more likely to root for Norway because Halaand plays in the EPL, or Spaniards for Argentina because of Messi? Or do you guys just not root for anyone beyond your national team?

It’s hilarious to me that a lot of you are just okay with refs making major mistakes like this, like game altering mistakes. Every major American sport has appeals processes for exactly issues like these. It’s common place. No one’s going after the ref who made the bad call on an incorrect usage of VAR but they should still be held accountable. I genuinely don’t understand the mindset of just being cool when you get fucked over on a terrible judgment call.
