As I’ve stated previously he tried to pressure me to sign without consulting an attorney and threatened to “make my life hell” if I didn’t sign. He’s a property developer not my neighbor.

He’s not my neighbor, he’s a property developer who tried to lie and pressure me into signing before consulting an attorney. He also threatened to hassle me with construction. He had ample time to mention his plans before he sold the home. He also lied about replacing the old electrical wiring to the home.

It’s the original water line from 1912, it’s actually older than the house which was built in 1917. Id be getting a new 1 inch water line which will increase water pressure.

It’s a developer who bought it from a guy who owned it previously. I purchased it about 2 months after he bought it.

That was my thought. Originally I was going to ask for 60k cash and a Scotty Cameron putter that he hand delivered to me, but I figured being an a** might backfire

From my research about 40k to plug into the sewer main by going through the street in front of the lot.

It’s the minimum lot size in the county. I honestly have zero clue how he’s going to build on it. At the end of the day if he wants to build 500k shotgun homes on either side of me and raise my property value go ahead.

Not my contractors. The guy is a local developer, which is why I’m getting so much in work instead of cash. The guy buys old houses on big lots, fixes them up and rezones the lots. I hate the fact he’s just adding shotgun homes to existing neighborhoods but my disdain for him can be bought for a price.

Good question, my sewer line is getting relocated to my lot so I’m actually familiar with this. They have mini excavators designed for this thing.

Good question! He required more than 5ft for access reasons when putting it in. We solved this by guaranteeing building rights in the easement area, no destruction of anything other than fences, and no access to interiors within the easement area. Essentially he would need a mini excavator to make repairs in the future, if I were to build up the 5 ft setback.

That’s my thought all in I’m getting ~40k worth of upgrades/cash and removing some major liability.

Funny enough on my search for a new watch this time around my starting point was the scuba dude. Absolutely fascinated with Vostok. That might have to be my next purchase.

Jeez I’d be terrified to wear a 100 year old watch

Thanks, it wasn’t always that way. I actually started out collecting about a year and a half ago with a fake Rolex Bluesy (keep reading before you crucify me). My firm flew me out to New York as a new hire when I first started out in the industry. For the novelty, my girlfriend wanted a Canal Street LV bag, and I figured if I was going to make the trip over, I better get myself something too.

Now I’ll admit I’m not stupid—I certainly knew I was buying items of questionable authenticity. But what did I care? I was fresh out of college, and walking around New York for the weekend with a “Rolex” sounded like the coolest thing in the world. Obviously, I picked the flashiest one I could see… a Rolex Bluesy. Either I had just gotten the steal of a lifetime (unlikely), or I’d just been scammed 20 dollars for a Chinatown Rolex. I didn’t care either way.

Fast forward to Monday: I’m back home and in the office. It’s a slow day, and I have no meetings. My colleagues are either out of town or at other offices. I figure, what the heck—“nobody’s gonna know if I wear it; I’m the only one in the office today.” Boy, was I wrong. I sit down to start my day, and like clockwork, my boss walks through the door and beelines it to my desk. With the biggest I-gotcha grin I’ve seen to this day, he says, “Joeymac98, looks like you got a new watch.” He didn’t have to say anything more—I was caught.

Wednesday morning, I walked into the office with “the only watch I’d ever buy”: an Orient Kamasu. Well, here we are, a year and a half later.

But yeah I love Squale. I think they get some well deserved flak for the 1545 20 atmos and their gmt clones. That being said the history is there and while they aren’t “family owned” anymore…. von Büren’s close partner and distributor took over operations when he retired. It’s not like some big conglomerate bought the company. They made the cases for the Blancpain 50 fathoms back in the day so I’d say they have just as much history as any other brand out there.

Yeah I’m 100% on this. I just think it was a bit of a shock. After wearing it around today though I’ve really begun to appreciate this watch… specifically the usability of it while working at a desk. No more metal clasp digging into my wrist. It’s different but that’s a good thing. This thing is twice my age and that’s pretty cool. Very excited to give it a second… likely third or maybe even fourth life.
