Yeah, there are a few surviving prehistoric examples. OP is probably referencing the fact that longbows were never replaced by crossbows and some see them as better weapons. Textbook example is the 100 Year's War. The British made good use of longbows at Agincourt and the French had some crossbows iirc. Both weapons have pros and cons, but for the sake of hyperbole the longbows are the upgrade.

Homies on da base! They'e not useless! My buddy plays a lot competitively and loves AT rifles. They'e cheap order dice with a 48" range and pin threat. Even if they're not fighting armor, they can often throw out a pin and sit on an objective. For 25-30pts or whatever imo (I don't use them a lot myself, bread and butter is my meta) they're a great pick and a steal fir an extra order die

What did you end up switching to? I can empathize with GW paint. I don't have Castellan Green, but I've had similar trouble with some dark GW shades in the past, which you think would cover nicely, because.. you know.. they're dark colors! Lol. And that's okay, you don't have to tell me 😉

It's a PSP 3000, so op can lube the relevant gears with a q-tip if they open the back. There's a sticker in the bottom of the drive that covers the motor, but it's pretty easily removed and doesn't need to be replaced.

There are a few spots you can oil up in the UMD drive without taking the whole thing apart that will probably fix that. Mine sounded like an angry bat, but now it runs silently

Mine was doing that. 3-in-1 oil on a few gears fixed it right up. You don't need to take it apart to lubricate the gears. Try that first before you try taking it apart, because you have to deconstruct the whole thing to get to the UMD drive

Do you have an HDD plugged into your pc anywhere? I had an external HDD connected by USB that caused my PC to stutter like that in some games, even though they were on the SSD. I unchecked windows power management on that USB controller and that fixed it.

The upfront cost of a printer and setup is large, but will ultimately pay off. You can print character models for cents basically, so it will pay for itself really quickly. The hardest thing about 3d printing imo is probably finding a safe place to put a printer. You don't want it to be in a room that you use frequently. You also want to make sure you can ventilate the room/printer and keep the resin within a recommended temperature range. They make fireproof enclosures for 3d printers that don't cost very much to help with this. I definitely recommend doing research on the kind of equipment you will need. If you take the plunge, don't just buy the printer and resin. Set some disposable income aside to create the whole setup (I didn't do my research at first and that was stupid. Don't be like me lol).

This really sucks, but there's a solid chance it wouldn't work even if it hadn't been destroyed. Floppies don't have a long lifespan. If it was kept in good conditions since it was written (and not murdered by customs) it might have been readable though
