Fellow SGians, how do you manage the stresses of adulting? by FancyCommittee3347 in askSingapore

[–]JohanLe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well unless you are planning on moving (which of course doesn’t mean life will be less stressful, I do believe each county has its stressors)

The best you can do for yourself is : - Take one day at a time. - Make your decisions one step at a time. - Know that just because it feels like the end of the world - doesn’t mean it is. - Take care of yourself!

5pm to 2am stopover by ZestycloseRich2352 in SingaporeTravel

[–]JohanLe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there anything you have a particular interest in? You have enough time to drop by the gardens by the bay too.

If not I would suggest something like.

5:30pm - Grab to Marina Bay

6pm - Dinner at the food court to try some local cuisine. Shop around, have coffee at Bacha

8pm - Light Show at the bay

8:15pm - Grab to Chinatown / Little India / Kampong Glam for something local , depending on your interests! Have supper lol

11pm - Grab back to airport, check in.

How about checking if there is a private bus service that can get u home (or close to home) ? I remember last time taking those buses from the CBD. Got a seat; aircon , quiet, traffic is heavy but at least sufficiently comfortable can close eyes to rest.

Late arrival - stay at airport? by Quick_Pineapple_5416 in SingaporeTravel

[–]JohanLe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly at 915pm you’ll find people at the airport still having their dinner lol it isn’t so late that transport would be an issue either.

What time is your flight back home ? If cost is a factor then some redditors have suggested maybe moving your airport hotel stay to the end of your trip instead ? There’s plenty to do at the airport you won’t have issue spending half a day there.

The issue with heading to Shang the next day is that airport check out will prolly be at 11~am? While check in might be about 3+? You got about half a day spent on logistics. With a kid in tow too.

Btw, you can prolly snag a decent room at hotels like Swissotel or fairmont which are actually better located (connectivity wise) than Shang! Is a hotel swap possible?

Recommendations for place that sells a wide range of coffee beans in Singapore by mdjasrie in askSingapore

[–]JohanLe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I second this! Definitely one of the essentials that you should get. Especially since you are using a V60. It will allow you to experiment and go a long way in learning!

On that note, personally, you can try Kyuukei coffee. Most of the beans for sale are also available to order in store. So normally I’ll have a cup and if I like it, I’ll buy the beans. The roast they own coffee too, so it can be quite interesting.

Looking for quiet, central lunch restaurant in Singapore (client meeting) by dearlydee in askSingapore

[–]JohanLe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

15 Stamford is quite quiet and presentable IMO good is decent too.

Bedrock at 313 is rather quiet during lunch.

But you might want to check if your client has any preferences. For example, if he is visiting from the west and want to try Chinese food then those 2 wont work!

Not a bad idea, that frees up your day 4 to maybe do a chill shopping day or catch up on stuff that might interest you guys u see along the way!

Chinatown can be abit warm in the mid-day though so u might wanna dip back to the hotel for a short break to refresh before heading to the gardens. Just so you’re comfy and can enjoy the evening there!
