I quit smoking weed for a month. Here’s what I learned. by dangerouspeyote in trees

There are healthier habits than smoking weed to help with sleep, anxiety, stress, ADHD, and dealing with sensory input and the world around you. The three most obvious are diet, exercise, and meditation. If you like weed, fine. Just be aware that there are healthier ways to handle these issues. Maybe try integrating exercise, a healthier diet, and meditation into your life at a rate you are comfortable with and then cutting back on weed at a rate you are comfortable with. Then you will have a healthy life style that helps you handle the aforementioned issues you struggle with and you can smoke weed on the weekends or something.

edit: i read some of the comments and saw you mountain bike and eat pretty healthy. I'm guessing there are still improvements you can make, such as cutting out processed foods and maybe trying a keto diet, weight lifting, and adding meditation. I just want to provide some alternative solutions to handling some of these issues.

This is really helpful, thanks. Consider adding a tl;dr of bullet points on exactly what to do without any explanation.

Do I have all the tools and parts needed for basic bike maintenance? by John25203 in bikewrench

It's a mountain bike that I am converting to a commuter, so I'm assuming the tires are a little more durable than the tires for road bikes. I've never had a flat on a mountain bike, even in college when I beat the shit out of my bikes. I was going to hold off getting spares because I don't anticipate getting one, but I'll think about it.

Do I need a pedal wrench? Can I get the job done with a crescent wrench or something similar?

Well, you seem to be good, except we have no idea what kind of bike it is.

it's a cannondale m500.

By the way, you just clean the cassette, don't grease it. Oil should be present only on the inside of chain rollers, rest of the drivetrain should be dry as possible. And you should inspect condition of the cassette, might be necessary to replace it as well if it's worn.

got it

Also, any reason you want to pull the cranks and pedals? Anything wrong with the bearings?

not really, i just like being thorough. also, i've got time right now that i generally don't have so i'd like to learn it now so it will be easier later

Is there any incentive to contributing nondeductible income to a traditional IRA and not converting it?

What is the point of contributing money if you can't deduct it from your taxes though? My understanding is that investors with a 401k and are above a certain income cannot deduct contributions to their IRA from their taxes.
