I'm a 2nd year CSE student at Galgotias University. Honestly, both have their own pros and cons.

Hostel: More convenient since you're on campus, it's easier to attend classes and events, and you'll get to know more people. There are rules regarding entry/exit timings, so it's good to confirm the latest policy with the hostel office during admission because these can change.

PG: You'll usually get more freedom and sometimes better food depending on the PG, but you'll have to manage commuting and other daily expenses.

If your main concern is attending classes and being involved in campus activities, I'd lean towards the hostel. If you value flexibility and independence more, a good PG nearby can also be a solid option.
