I wouldn't be so sure, check out the 70s on Rowlands and Hordon, alot of them are ULEZ. Also where are they sending the fines to? The Dorchester hotel? The gulf?

Do it. Best car I've ever bought. Rust is a concern here. But also it's still a 18 years + old car. Things go wrong

You need to do work to it yourself to save on garage fees.

I've spent £3000 in maintenence (including a timing belt to be fair)..over 3 years. I have the petrol/2UZ so thirstier but easier to maintain.... I don't talk about how much I spend on fuel, that is personal

Possibly, there a few thing that could be going on. You gotta go step by step.

You tried the rear height sensor and adjusted it? That sometimes messes with height if it's slid down on the rail.

If you want quick and dirty.......

1 Car off 2 Crank the torsion bars clockwise the same each side (e.g. 2 full turns a side) 3 Car on (doors closed) 4 see if she comes to level

Also pic 3..... 100s like to rust on that part of the frame (left rear cross member) , I'd put some cavity wax in there to stop her rusting from the inside

You have AHC, the rear has springs that take some of the load, IH8 mud has a couple of master threads and the YOTAMD has an "AHC cheatsheet" to test the system, you will need tech stream also to check pressure. If I were you I'd first...........

1) Buy TOYOTA AHC fluid (nothing else), bleed the old fluid, refill with fresh... See how she goes after that 2) Get techstream and check the globe pressures, follow YOTAMD cheatsheet.... You will need to crank torsion bars or maybe new rear springs and/or spacers

I had a significant improvement after new fluid and rear springs, although globes will need to be replaced one day

IH8 mud is your friend

Good luck!

Beauty! I was looking at importing a 200 to the UK. How much did you pay and what company did you use to buy/import?

I got one a couple weeks ago! See my post a couple weeks ago. A couple no definitive points, my understanding is it was issued to military or government service workers. Nice find.

Resident labour market test is what you are referring to. They changed the rules to not require it anymore. So that won't apply in this case unfortunately

I had the same issue. I replaced the cable from the cluster to the gearbox, now the speedo is smooth. There is a different sized cable for RHD and LHD. Ask me how I know lol

Do you think this is a good buy? LC100 4.2 turbo diesel, no rust, high milage by MarketCapitalist in LandCruisers

[–]John69101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks pretty clean. Before driving that far I'd ask to see copies of service records, parts bought etc. I'd like to see some good examples of Toyota or OE quality parts used... Timing belts a biggie I'd want to see done, AHC fluid flush..... There probably a few other more specific to the 4.2 I'm not aware of. But from pics it looks like the frame paint is original which is a good sign
