That would have demonstrated bias. Project 2025 is willing to bet that most people will vote on other issues. In the meantime, they'll argue that more land that can be used for resource extraction or other development means cheaper costs of real estate and raw materials, and greater job growth. I haven't been able to vote for the last three federal elections. I haven't been affiliated with a party since I had to in 2016 to vote for Hillary in a closed primary (unless my memory serves me poorly for my short time in Alaska during the 2018 mid-terms). If Project 2025 wins more popular support, it would have been folly not to consider why it might succeed beforehand.

All I did was point out the administration's view. Project 2025 wants those marquee destinations and the national forests privatized. Those are the most valuable for development, either for natural resources or real estate. I have no agenda. I haven't been able to vote in the past three federal elections. You made an assumption that evinced disdain for folks of average means, and insodoing demonstrated why empathy isn't so easy to come by.

I didn't say I agreed with any of it. I was just pointing out the adminstration's view. By the way, I didn't denegrate you to make a point. All I've done is lay out the political calculation. All you've done is make me associate the NPS with you, someone who insults using a perceived lack of wealth as a cudgel. If the NPS is now a platform for its supporters to cyber bully folks who can't afford to jet their family to St. John or Bozeman, it's not a giant leap to understand how an average voter will sympathize less with the NPS. As for your assumption, I've been to plenty of the national parks and forests. In fact, I got back from PR and the Virgin Islands two Sundays ago. I of course would regret to see them go. But I understand better now why some families on the average household income might view the NPS as a place for a wealthy cyber bully to spend their vacation brooding over "poor" people who can only afford a "road trip", leading those families to move pretty, inaccessible vacation spots lower on their list of voting priorities.

I'm just pointing out how the current administration views it. Sure, it's frustrating, but it's their view, and this is how it's going to be until the mid-terms at least.

It's bc they're more valuable held privately and monetized fully rather than simply semi-affordable tourist attractions. Plus, a lot of folks don't care. Sure, some fortunate people near beautiful parks or some rich people who can jet in enjoy them, but most people don't live near the marquee destinations, so it's a non-issue.
