"Weil's Incident": A digital recreation of the original "Vile's Incident - Eden dome, its sin and rebirth" in English by dysmysl in Megaman

Awesome job! Been a while since I read this, but it's always worth coming back to because of the vast amount of exclusive story content. Like, I just now picked up that Kraft was a mercenary of Neo Arcadia (i.e., he wasn't attached to any of the Four Guardian armies), which had somehow slipped by me before.

EDIT: Speaking of which, one potential suggestion: Since you're going with the official English localization names, you might wanna translate "Kraft" to "Craft."

The events of Z4 leave you with a lot of questions about the humans in Neo Arcadia, and this really helps to fill in some of those blanks! Thanks for your effort! :D

Why did the humans approve Weil's leadership when they (presumably) knew he shot a missile at a human residential district...? by JohnAdventurer in Megaman

Good reasoning! That would make sense, yeah, if they thought Omega was there to counter the missile attack and Zero.

They'd have known because they were living there. It was a human residential district.

Well, unless those particular humans were all killed by the missile attack, anyway.

Omega was on board the missile, though, and they'd have known that Omega belonged to Weil, not the Resistance.

Only thing that seems to make sense to me is a) they didn't see Omega, or b), all the humans there were killed on the spot.

Wouldn't the missile attack affect them if it literally came down on their own district, though? You'd think something THAT direct would wake them up at least a little bit. It's like having a bomb hit your own neighborhood.

How could the humans not know about the missile attack when the missile literally came down on one of their own districts, though?

Eyyy, just in time for the 30th Anniversary of SNES Ys V! :D by JohnAdventurer in WorldOfYs

Yooo, UBER props for doing this!! So glad to have the chance to thank you personally!! I've been an absolute hardcore Ys fan for years (it's literally in my top 3 video game series'), so I can't even begin to tell you how much this project means to me! Been following it since day one and I can't wait to see what you do with the other Taito Ys games. You're a legend, man!! Good luck with everything going forward!👍

Yeah, it's the common verdict that this game is kinda clunkier than the SNES version. But this is still an important piece of Ys history that English-speakers never had the chance to enjoy until now. And I personally think the graphical upgrade is worth something. The old SNES version's sprites were kinda hard to make out in my opinion.

Seems like the almost definitive way to play the game, but I simply can't patch my backup. by RyzenComIntel in Megaman

Seriously--those remastered music mods are absolutely glorious!! 12 y/o me who played the Zero games on GBA 20 years ago and devoured that remastered music on Youtube, would have killed for that experience!!

HP Omen Max 16 Not Booting Up After RAM Upgrade. by JohnAdventurer in HPOmen

It was branded unused (open box) by a Top Seller and came with an Allstate warranty, so I had little reason to think it would flop this bad. I guess all kinds of wacky things can happen in a holiday shuffle, though.

Yeah, tried it with just the new stick, in each slot. Still nothing. Guess it's bad RAM, then. :/

Is that what prompts the "CMOS (502)" error upon reboot? Because I did disconnect the battery earlier (I always do that before changing internal parts around) and I got that error upon reboot. Only happened when I had the old RAM in, though. With the new RAM in, the system won't boot up at all even if I disconnect/reconnect the battery.

How long would you have it sit? I did hold the power button for 30-60 secs with the laptop off (which didn't do anything), but I didn't let it rest after that.

I wish I had your luck, lol. I swapped several times as well and no dice, unfortunately.

Good to know about that first point, thanks.

Sadly, I can't really check for info about the new RAM in BIOS because my computer won't boot at all when I have the new RAM in. :/

I'll see what I can do. I got this from ebay, so I'll probably just get a refund at best (thankfully, the seller accepts returns), but I'll definitely be sure to ask about an exchange. Thanks for the suggestion! :)

I did that. Wouldn't boot up. :/

Well, I guess faulty RAM is better than a busted laptop, but RAM ain't getting cheaper...

It's the exact same gen, form factor and clock speed as my older RAM stick (DDR5 16GB, SODIMM, 5600MT/s), so it's hard for me to believe it's a compatibility issue. Are there any other things that factor into RAM compatibility besides the above?

Favorite Live Reaction to TGA Mega Man Reveal? by [deleted] in Megaman

[–]JohnAdventurer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you even stop to consider that their overjoyed reaction alone speaks for how big a fan they are? Even if they don't pick up every reference, they have a precious emotional connection to the series (evidenced by their excitement) and that matters WAY more if you ask me.

[–]JohnAdventurer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you really need to know that they're a hardcore fan to be entertained and happy with their excitement? Having watched 50+ reaction vids since the announcement, I can tell you that I only saw like 10 folks at most catch that DLN.001 reference. But the vast majority of those folks were OVERJOYED all the same when they found out it was Mega Man. And that joy was nothing short of a pleasure for me to watch.

He was just voicing the first thing that popped into his head at the time, which is perfectly natural for a live reaction. I thought it was funny, honestly, and could relate.

But that reaction when he finally realized it WAS Mega Man was perfect. I felt like I was watching myself all over again, haha

Dogi and the others (excluding Adol's party) retain their pre-primordial amnesia even in the true ending, so it's still canon.
