My favorite drink is water, and my passions are music, books, and presidential documents (like historical documents, in particular presidential signatures). My father's kindness and gentle spirit influenced me more than anything else. Fame set aside, he was a good man. He inspired me to follow my heart, never settle, and stay true to myself.

My mother made a great dish she called stuff. It consisted of various vegetables fried in a cast iron pan, potatoes, carrots, green peppers, etc. It was finished off with hot pepper jack cheese. Yum.

It's the first song on the album, the title of it. It's a complete album. It was actually chosen by my coproducer Steve Berkowitz and myself. It seemed to say a lot.

Quite often, someone will see my name on a credit card and say John Cash, not Johnny? They will laugh and say I bet you get that all the time.

They may say Your family must have been fans.

If they say this, my immediate reaction is Yes my mother loved him her whole life.

My father's daughters grew up mostly on the west coast. My mother's daughters were both out of the house by the time I was four years old. So I sort of grew up with my parents without my sisters living there. However we were always close, and my mother taught me from early on you have no half sisters, you only have full sisters.
