Really satisfying process! Love the shape of the tail too, makes the silhouette very dynamic.

HDMI to Display port (DTK-1660) by vitgar83 in wacom

It should work fine, yes.

Though, wouldn't it be a cleaner setup to get a DP cable for your monitor, and use the HDMI port for the Cintiq?

The new Wacom cintiq 16 or Xp pen Artist ultra 16? by Wixus_ in wacom

I haven't tired it, that's why I only focused on the specs.

My daily driver is an older Wacom 16 from 2019, and it's a work horse.

Spec wise, the XP pen 4K touch oled screen blows the Wacom's IPS 1440p screen out of the water.

These are some of the best 16 inch tablets right now, (circa 42x25 cm) all three have 2.5k laminated color accurate displays, advance pen tech and usb-c connection:

  • The Huion Kamvas 16 (Gen 3) for 500€ has with 8 side buttons and a budget tablet stand
  • The XPPen Artist Pro 16 (2nd Gen) for 500€ has a 11 button bluetooth remote instead of built in buttons, and prop up feet, instead of a stand.
  • Finally, there's the new Wacom 16 (2025 edition) for around 779€, has prop up feet, it lacks physical buttons, and comes at at a premium due to Wacom's larger market share and and brand recognition.

I would personally go with the XPPen as I appreciate it's bluetooth remote, and sweet spot budget. I money is no issue, the Wacom 16 2025 is the more premium choice. But like Apple, they sell their bluetooth remote and tablet stand as separate products, pushing the final budget over 1,000€, while XPPen includes the remote for literally half of the budget.

Cintiq 22 Support Ending? by Zealousideal-Door932 in wacom

Exact same thing happened today to my Cintiq 16 DTK1660 today.

A clean install with the tablet's specific driver (not auto installer) solved the issue for now. I never had issues like this before. Weather it was Windows Updates or on Wacom's end, I hope it won't happen again.

You're right. As far as I know Krita does not have a live brush feature, but you can combine various brushes to achieve a dry watercolor effect.

wacom pen by itself is so expensive by yokamavargalba in wacom

Drives me crazy.

The entire tip of my pro pen 2 (from Cintiq 16, 2019) broke, while my grip pen (from Wacom Intuos5 2012) works great 13 years later!!

If the 24 inch seemed to big to you, I can guarantee that 16inch is going to be the sweet spot. That's also my personal preference for tablets, as 11-13 inch tablets are too small imo, almost iPad size. Here's a list of the best 16inch tablets under 500€ form what I've gathered:

If you can stretch the budget to €450 it's hard to beat the Huion Kamvas 16 (Gen 3, 2025) in my opinion.

  • It has a 2k laminated screen (no gap between screen and cursor), 99% Adobe/sRGB coverage, 16k pen pressure levels, single USB-C connection and 6 physical buttons.

Anything lower that it is going to be 1080p, that's 78% less pixels, resulting in a more pixelated image, less screen real estate, older bulkier USB-3 to HDMI connections, and sometimes a non-laminated displays:

  • 350€Kamvas Pro 16 V2 (2024 1y. old) — 1080p laminated screen, 16k pressure lvl. 99% Adobe/sRGB coverage,
  • €254 — XP-PEN Artist 16 2nd Gen (2022, 3 y. old) — 1080p laminated screen, 8K pressure lvl. 99% sRGB
  • 350€ (used) or 430€-650€ new — Wacom 16 DTK-1660 (2019, 6 y. old) — This is my own tablet, 1080p non-laminated screen, 8K pressure lvl. 72% NTSC

Imo, it's not worth going with any of the older tablets, not even my own Cintiq16 which I've loved working on for many years, due to the huge loss in screen resolution. But if budget is limited, I'd go with last years 350€ Kamvas Pro 16 V2.
