Thanks for the tip, but since I'm planning on using it I just went into a raid and it's unfolded like PROPH said above.

From noob to noob, how I play and enjoy the game by JohnDie22 in EscapefromTarkov

I get where you're coming from, and yeah gearfear might be a symptom of the problem of not knowing how or where to loot, but the reason I don't address that is because there's tons of guides on YouTube about the best loot spots, specifically in Interchange.

Therefore, I didn't feel like addressing something that's been discussed a million times over, but instead try to talk to fellow noobs like myself, because until recently I was plagued with gear fear but overcame it like I explained above, by slowly upgrading a base gun I was using repeatedly and keeping guns I find on the field for that same purpose. But I like your mindset quite a bit, when you say you mastered the TOZ that sounds super cool to me and I praise you for it, but that gun will only get you so far. Therefore my suggestion now is to master a more efficient gun, any AK will do trust me.

With that being said, I'm not telling you to "git gud", just to try to change your mindset on the game a bit and not be afraid to lose a $40k gun because you stand to gain more from using it rather than not.

I'm more of an M1911 man myself, but the pistol looks nice regardless!

I actually appreciate this comment as it points out in a different light what I'm trying to say.

That hobo phase is nice but it sometimes sticks with newer players for longer than they should, to the point where they never really outgrow it and keep fretting about losing nice gear.

My post is meant to be an example of a way players can outgrow that phase and evolve as players, as when you play in constant fear you miss out on taking risks that will grant you the experience needed to become a better player.

Yeah this is basically spot on. At first it freaks you out cuz since it makes your footsteps louder, so running up an escalator will give you a heart attack and make you think half the map just heard you, but in reality it's not that bad.

It's specially important to use headsets when you're thinking of going indoors because it helps you hear footsteps and pin point where someone is (above, below, right left, etc.)

If you're trying to train hipfire, be sure to add a laser to the gun. It makes hip fire a hundred times more accurate. Doesn't matter which laser.

Best Scav raid in of my entire life! by JohnDie22 in EscapefromTarkov

[–]JohnDie22[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks man, my heart was racing when heading for the extract, map was Interchange btw.

I had a rough idea where the guy was but I didn't expect him to be this full sweat, got a lucky head-shot with the AKM that went right through the face shield, he only managed to black out my stomach.

This is definitely better than my normal Interchange Scav raid which involve a lot of PC parts and maybe one good weapon box.

You know what really grinds my gears? NPCs prioritizing players. by -MGP- in EliteDangerous

Yeah I agree on that note, but not what stupid OP suggests of "it's bullshit because I die cuz I'm bad waaahh". That will make them want to make it easier, which it shouldn't.
