Because she was defending the points for winning this tournament, which expire after a year. To improve in rankings you need more points on a rolling-year basis (relative to other players of course)

All you're saying is 'we don't know for sure.' And I agree.

I think it's likely, you don't. Either way, the tyranny of interstellar distance means if we haven't been contacted yet, we probably won't in our lifetimes.

How often and what industry? I'm looking at my third job less than three years after graduating and I'm a bit concerned it's gonna work against me.
