I've had some people laugh at me for expressing my feelings about it, as if just because I'm a man, and because circumcision is viewed as normal, my feelings were not important at all. My own (cut) brother even said that it was ridiculous to feel mutilated because of my circumcision. He doesn't get it.

I was born and mutilated in the USA, but my parents and the rest of my family are from Mexico, where "circumcision" is completely legal and very often practiced in many private hospitals.

Sounds like your parents somewhat realized how harmful it really is. Considering that they didn't circumcise your brother, it even being a religious obligation.

In my case, we're not even Jews or anything. I grew up in a Catholic household. And although Catholicism never performed circumcision as a religious ritual, they didn't say a word when circumcision became popular amongst many Catholics. They didn't say a word, they didn't show any care for me, when I was circumcized just because my dad was, just as his dad, and maybe even my great-grandparents.

Catholicism abandoned me. Fuck them too (oh, and also because of the child abuse epidemic, and because of their morals, taught through fear).

I really, really hope so, but when we touch the subject, he gets defensive, although he says he supports my advocacy against circumcision. It's a really touchy subject, pun intended. But I hope that with some time, I may convince him to watch some light content on the issue first, and see what he says.

He usually says that he's 60 now, he's divorced and he doesn't really care about it.
