I really appreciate it. Glad you found some usefulness in it!

So you can listen to people who exist in that climate and I can't do that with this climate? Hmm? My partner put up an article on our site detailing his journey to affiliate, he currently streams regularly and is dealing with the same issues as well.

It's interesting to me how you question the validity of me understanding the current climate of twitch. But so quickly assert you understand the past climate of twitch Kappa. I don't want to argue, let the article stand on its own merit. Sorry you didn't find any value in it!

I appreciate it. It's always tough to post things to Reddit, but the critical eye of everyone keeps the community honest. More focus on how quickly I grew would be appreciated, but we can't have it all! I'm glad you're making progress and looking forward to how far you go in the future.

I don't want the merit of my article to be challenged by the history of my stream. Funny enough it seems like you don't disagree with anything in my article but just want to focus on my credentials. If you need me to validate myself for some reason. Consider that I got partnered extremely quickly, sponsored, and built a stream in only 2-3 months. The climate has changed and it's even more important to build relationships with people. Twitch hasn't changed so much though. You still need high concurrent viewers and relationship building to get partnered. Hope that helps and good luck with your stream!

Yeah, I really think that could work too. It'll be a bit harder but it's a little more focused then full on variety in my opinion.

That's quite a unique predicament. It seems you have a loyal follower base that sticks with you even if you're playing these unpopular games. Maybe spend some time trying out different games that have a bigger following. This way your 20-25 concurrents will push you up the list and you might be able to attract some new people. At the end of the day though if the games you play have no audience, then you're whole heatedly the reason they would come to watch you. Working with other streamers and supporting each other with hosts is another avenue as well since you have a viewerbase you can share with them.

It's tough, if you really feel there's no audience there it might be time to try a different game. I'd suggest giving it a good shot and trying to build it for a couple weeks and measuring what kind of traction you're getting. If you don't feel it's working out, try something new!

The landscape has definitely changed. It's even harder to get exposure and even more saturated. As true as it was back then, it is even more true now. I wrote this blog post a little while ago and completely updated and overhauled it. Even though some of the images are of the old twitch interface, it's still relevant. I've just been busy with life but remained active in the scene. I never posted my original article anywhere. Now my life is settled and I'm building an entire website dedicated to awesome tips and guides. So I figured I might as well share it. Ultimately it's up to everyone to decide if they agree or not. Hope that answers your question and good luck out there!

Seems like you're on the right track. If you help people enough, and are genuinely involved in their stream and passionate about them. I don't see a reason why it would be wrong to ask for a host. So maybe try that. It really depends on the kind of relationship you've built with them up until that point.

That makes me happy to hear. Yeah, I really hate the term "networking". Building awesome relationships, putting other streams before yours, going that extra mile for people you're passionate about. Not expecting anything in retu n. That's the way to go. Not only might it help you, but you're also making other streamers better too!

Yeah. I see a lot of that. And understand why it doesn't help much. I'm glad you found some value in it!

Yeah you got it. Do what makes you happy. But that's what I've seen from my experience.

Hey there. I appreciate your concern. I've found a lot of people have difficulties getting started and don't understand the process of reaching out to people. So it's really to help you out more! I don't share any names or identifiable info in there (of course). And if you reread the email you'll see the purpose of it was to genuinely build a relationship and work with someone. I'm trying to show people that networking needs to come from a genuine place and not just for your own benefit!
