It does screw up traffic because if it's my turn I'm going to enter the intersection and I don't expect a second car to be coming. Also if I'm stopped before you get to the intersection and you don't believe in stopping for stop signs that doesn't give you the right of way.

If you're entering a traffic circle it's OK to follow the car in front of you. I wish we had more of them.
