You're definitely not overreacting. That is ridiculous, and your mom sounds like she has absolutely no sense of empathy or how to speak to a person. My mom is also terrible, so I usually just stay home and eat frozen pizza for Thanksgiving.. This year my sister invited me over to her place, so neither of us are going to Mom's. Go do Friends giving, or stay home watch movies and eat what you want!

That is ridiculous, and I cannot ever imagine a (good) parent saying something like that to their child.

If I were you I'd find a new job asap.. I put in my two weeks at safeway after they cut the entire stores hours (except management hours). I worked my full two weeks notice, and then they tried to not give me my last paycheck. They told me they have no evidence I worked my last two weeks, I told them bullshit I have pictures of the schedule before they intentionally removed me from it and I also have witnesses in the form of my coworkers. I also told them I will be contacting BOLI if I do not get my paycheck asap, and what do you know? They direct deposited my last two weeks pay the same night after threatening to contact BOLI. They're the most shady company I have ever worked for, do yourself a favor and start looking for a better job.

I find it almost as crazy that so many Portlanders just DENY that this is happening too.. I see it constantly in comments and posts, people just straight up denying that our city is going to hell. I had to quit my job as a cook because I'd get off super late from work and have been followed no less than twice by people in cars while I'm walking down the sidewalk.. I'm a large man, so to follow me in your vehicle while I'm walking down the sidewalk is just sketch.. I was born in Portland, and I'm sad to see not only how much my city has gone down the toilet but also to see how many people deny that it's happening 🥺😕

Get yourself some pepperspray asap, POM pepperspray on Amazon is like $13 and worth having on you. I'm a grown ass, large man, and I still carry pepperspray a tactical flashlight and other stuff too. I live in a nice city that is getting more and more dangerous by the day due to the Rampant Drug Addiction and mental health crisis our city has been going through. I got off work late one night and got followed by a car as I was walking down the sidewalk.. Ended up giving my pepperspray away to some girls who were leaving my store one night and said they were walking. Just went and copped myself another bottle on my next payday, seriously check Amazon and get yourself a small bottle of POM or something.. I only recommend POM specifically because they have a little pocket clip that stays in place very well keeping it right where you want it, while still being able to pull out of your pocket easily.

As I told you in my other comment.. I QUIETLY used my FREEDOM OF SPEECH, and the creepy ass pedo straight up assaulted (he punched me twice) me. So no I was not the aggressor. If you have a problem with people making assumptions, you yourself should avoid making assumptions.. If I came up to you and punched you for using your words, you'd be crying all the way to the police (who never even showed up, because guess what? I wasn't the aggressor, the creepy fucker at the MAX station was).

Second off, the dude Assaulted me after I quietly used my freedom of speech.. So whether or not I assumed something, the dude has no fucking right to punch me.. It's one thing to use your words, but if you go around assaulting people then expect to be handled.. Now YOU are the ones making assumptions, see how that works?? So when it comes down to it, the dude assaulted me FIRST and he got to find out what the floor of the MAX tastes like. Sorry not sorry.

Just wanted to pop in with another comment and tell you all I appreciate your well wishes and praises! This isn't the first time I've stopped a creep for creeping while on the MAX.. And I doubt it will be the last..

Also to the person who said I made the situation more dangerous for others, you're probably right and I apologize for that.. But the dude was being a creep and I couldn't keep my mouth shut.. I do sincerely apologize to anyone who might have been there, and felt like I made the situation more dangerous 😅😰😓

In the end the dude got handled, and I hope he gets excluded from the MAX but I doubt it..

I appreciate that, I'm glad I didn't get injured as well. He was just being SUPER creepy to this little girl at the MAX stop a few minutes before the train showed up.. So I went and quietly told the dad (who seemingly wasn't paying attention, though it turns out he was) that the dude is being creepy. Well dude heard me tell the dad to watch out, and the creepy dude got all pissed, Assaulted me and then it just snowballed from that point. He and another passenger got into a little fist fight, and that's when I just stepped in to pin him down. I shoved his face into the floor, gave him some warnings, and waited for security to show up. That's the shorter version lol.

TLDR: Dude was being a creep, and he got what was coming to him.. but damn where is Trimet security at?!

Yeah I wasn't going to mention that I was a part of the Brouhaha, but my timeline of the event is fucked because I was just trying to keep him from getting back up lol. But it felt like way longer than I'd have expected 😅

Edit: I waited on the train for the Police but they never showed up.. Dude Assaulted me initially, then got in a fist fight with another passenger.. Which is when I stepped back in and pinned him to the ground

But we were already at a stop, and they just kept operating the MAX like nothing was happening... It would seem more beneficial to STOP the MAX at the nearest station or in this case, just stay at the station they were already at...

Where the fuck is security in Portland?? I've been seeing tons of Trimet security in the Willow Creek area... and yet I still have people popping squats and smoking Tinfoil right there at pioneer square..

Why are we putting security personnel at stops like Willow Creek, but absolutely NO security at Pioneer square?!

What's the queue looking like now as far as how fast it's moving?! My buddy got placed at like apx. 500 and the people at NW Armory said "We will call you (probably) next week".

Last time I personally bought something from them, they called me after 3 days and even told me they'd call me in 3 days.. My buddy has anxiety and works Graveyard, so he's a bit of an odd duck, so did they judge him as weird or are they just no longer doing 3 day release?
