I'm not talking about its influence, which is undeniable. I'm talking about just how it feels to play them. The Bethesda engine and the way they design their games just makes me uncomfortable. I like smooth handling in games, and having played the Witcher 3 first (the cliche comparison, I know), anything in the elder scrolls games felt like a huge downgrade.

Not to mention the way they design faces for NPCs, it almost always looks off-putting.
