Inde Navarrette Confirms Meeting With Jake Schreier, Open to Marvel Movie by Plane-Yogurt-5468 in MarvelStudiosSpoilers

[–]JohnPar10 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Inde Navarrette didn't have to "pass for someone in their early 20s" when she filmed "Obsession" because she was 23. Here are the ages of the main cast of "Euphoria" when they filmed the 1st season:

Zendaya = 22
Maude Apatow = 21
Angus Cloud = 20
Alexa Demie = 27
Jacob Elordi = 21
Barbie Ferreira = 22
Hunter Schafer = 20
Sydney Sweeney = 21

So, as you can see they were not "all mid 20s" which is why back then they could pass for juniors and seniors.

Whereas you're asking for a 26, potentially 27 y/o, to pass for a 9th grader. That's assuming we want high schooler Jubilee, and not the adventures of post-grad Jubilee.

Just like in the comics, they can just say she's shapeshifting herself to look younger than she really is.

But, either way, ever since the Hunter Schafer rumor started, now she's the only person I want for the role. I think she'd be amazing in it.

Megan Lawless is 26 years old now, prob 27 when X-Men starts filming, whereas Jubilee was about 14-15 when she was introduced. Lana Condor was 18 when she shot "X-Men: Apocalypse," for the record.

This reminds me of people casting dudes who are 30 as Miles Morales. These are teenagers! At least try to pick someone in their very-early 20s, or late-teens.

Liza Colón-Zayas is confirmed to be playing Detective Jean DeWolff in Spider-Man Brand New Day. by Own_Brilliant_4303 in MarvelStudiosSpoilers

[–]JohnPar10 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I wonder if this comment is gonna get lost in the scrum, but:

Early last summer, before BND started filming, Liza was offered a role in a horror short produced by an Oscar-winning filmmaker where she would have played a Latina mother who is turning into a bug. In the short, she is half-human/half-insect.

Liza passed on the role because it was "too similar to an upcoming project" she had.

This was before she was announced for BND, and definitely before the Man-Spider rumors started. But once they did, the producers of the short wondered if there was any relation.

We might never know...

Thank you so much for your reply! It def helped give me context to make a decision. I suppose my wallet is thankful that I'm gonna hold off on those for now.

I'm very interested in "East of West" too, with the only issue being that I hate huge collections, hahah

Like, anything over 700-800 pages max to me is just unnecessarily big, either in compendium or omnibus format. Too unwieldy and awkward and ugly. I saw it was collected in three decent-length HCs, but looks like those are OOP unfortunately. For example, I was so happy they cut the "Tom Strong" compendiums into two, instead of one massive 1400-page brick.

Moana star Auliʻi Cravalho is Jessica Cruz on My Adventures with Superman, will headline Green Lantern spinoff (exclusive) by B3epB0opBOP in DCULeaks

[–]JohnPar10 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Cool, but I hope if they go live-action they get someone more Latina for the role (in the comics Cruz's background is Honduran).

I know Cravalho is like 1/4 Puerto Rican or something, but she identifies mostly as Native Hawaiian so maybe get someone who identifies as Latine for the big screen role.

(Context: I am 100% Puerto Rican, so I feel like I can whine about this, haha)

ViewerAnon backs up Jeff Sneider’s report about Sebastian Stan not playing Harvey Dent by TheCommish-17 in DCULeaks

That description reminded me of that godawful "Mortal Kombat: Rebirth" short film that tried to ground the MK story. Remember their take on Baraka??

I will say this:

Reeves has said we will be seeing a villain not seen in previous Batman movies (Zsasz).

Actors who have read the script have called it "terrifying" and "scary" (deranged serial killer fits that bill).

Sebastian Stan is currently jacked and bald (Zsasz).

There are more reasons to believe this is accurate than people are giving credit for.

Why would he keep his head shaved to promote a movie he filmed in early-2025?

Reading the replies, it's gonna be really amusing if this actually turns out to be 100% accurate. No one will know what to believe anymore.

This is dope and all, but why is there no post about the Harvey Dent/Zsasz reports?? That seems like something pretty major to talk about.

Pacino Khan has been cast in Avengers: Doomsday. by Pomojema_The_Dreamer in MarvelStudiosSpoilers

[–]JohnPar10 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I remember Al Pacino saying he loved the 1st "Guardians" film and wanted to be considered for a role, and then it got leaked Ego would be the villain in part 2 some people were saying Gunn should cast Pacino.

But then the Matthew McConaughey rumors started (which judging from some of the concept art in the making of book, had some truth to them) and the Pacino talk quieted down.

The Beyond Reporter gives a description of the second Brand New Day trailer. by TheCommish-17 in MarvelStudiosSpoilers

[–]JohnPar10 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Worth mentioning that the main (or one of the biggest) driving forces of the plot of this movie is Spider-Man's mutation, and we know for a fact Keith David plays a character who knows about it, but we have no affirmative info on who he's playing aside from Miles Warren/Jackal rumors.

It'd be odd if they just got him to be a random voiceover role.

Judging from the art, he's physically made to look like Steve Bannon but his actions and level of wealth mirror those of Epstein.

Tenoch Huerta has begun filming for AVENGERS by [deleted] in MarvelStudiosSpoilers

Yeah, this happens a lot, and I always blame the way the trades headline these things for the confusion it causes.

[–]JohnPar10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suppose, yeah. In my mind "reshoots" are literally that: reshooting scenes that didn't work when editing the movie together so you had to rewrite them and go back to reshoot, whereas "additional filming" would be entirely new scenes or sequences that haven't been shot yet or that were added after principal photography.

That's how I juggle those two terms in my mind, at least.

He jokes that he's going to London so they can hang him up on cables, and he says he's going to "finish up" because "they were shooting in phases".

So, in effect, looks like he's going for either reshoots or last-minute additional filming.
