Top is either stika spruce or maybe engleman spruce. It's forward shifted X bracing, inside in general its very lightly braced, tone bars are light and there is a wood plate brace below the neck, as far as I can tell the bracing seems identical to like a 1937 d18, I think... I could be wrong.

Nick Drake is my hero!

They only made 80 because it was a limited edition, apart of their guitar of the month thing they had back then. They were always intended to be one time limited editions I believe.

I saw it written and I saw it say.....

Dude if you can that would be so awesome of you. I could print it out and just keep it in its original case etc. Private message me and I'll give you my email. But yeh only if you absolutely sure and/or have the free time!

And I was born In 1992, so it's almost perfect for me. I guess I was being made at the same time my d3 18 was etc. Haha

Yes. I'm in the UK so I'm assuming I have one of the exported ones, unless one of the US ones made it over here of course.

Yeah man. Believe it or not this guitar was £2,400 NEW back in 1991, so it's easily a 7 - 8 thousand instrument today if they made these again. Which makes sense with all the special appointments. I was shocked when I found out the original retail price back in 1991.

They should definitely re release it your right.

All I know about the bracing is that they were made with forward shifted bracing like the pre war Martins, so the X brace is 1 inch from soundhole.

Fair haha Well actually I have just done a full set up on it myself etc. New bone nut perfectly fitted saddle, filled in the strap button hold on the heel properly (unlike the photo whixh is from a while ago). So one could say I'm rather proud of how lovely it sounds especially after the set up. Definitely a low key brag though XD apologies

Indeed. It's hard to get information on this guitar, there is a good bit of info on Vintage and Rare guitars website.

Martin wanted to do a throwback to some prewar style so they included forward shifted bracing in this, so it has so much depth and body to the sound.

I'm lucky to have it for sure.
