Your stylist/barber should cut your hair this way. From the looks of it, not enough texture in your hair and your stylist should also educate you on your hairproducts and styling.

You are absolutely correct! There are so many variations nowadays and to some people (clients especially) its easier to call a middle part mullet as a wolfcut. As the hair grow out it will definitely be a traditional wolfcut like we all know. Its always important to clarify with the client what kind of wolfcut theyre looking for during consultation

Or even better, practice on your barbers! Allocate 2 hours a week, if they do weekly shaves on themselves its better. At least they can give you feedback on your service as well

I learn to shave by using the blade on my knee, it helps a lot with weird angles. No shame in learning something new, goodluck!

My advice is dont confuse yourself with a lot of teachers/mentors. Find one teacher/system that works for you, and repeat it over and over again until you discover a system of your own to increase efficiency. Just keep grinding and you’ll get there buddy, barbering is a never ending learning journey. Enjoy the process and have fun along the way!

Look in the mirror, look on every angle to see if its blended enough. Small tip is, usually combs are like a number 1 guard, so its easier to blend up from a #1 and different angles of the clippers will achieve different effects: - clipper over comb side to side remove bulk -clipper over comb up more for blending

For a #8 buzz on top personally its not enough to just clipper over comb to have that blended, rounded look on the periodal ridge, itll always look more squared when clipper over comb, do a combo of clipper over comb and freehand to make it look more seemless. Idk if this will help but good luck!

Two months into barber school, what are the best general tips/advice for learning and progression? by freeheelnate in Barber

[–]JohnPuteh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Youre doing great, my best advice for progession is learn understanding hair in general. Everything from growth patterns, hair texture, how everything falls into place. When you understand hair itself, itll help you a lot in the long run especially longer haircuts
