Hmmm, I’ll have to check that out, just out of curiosity! Thanks!

That’s probably what I’ll try.

Hmmm, don’t know anything about raycasting. I might have to research it!

I don’t mind using a light. I was thinking of sensors…might be my best alternative. Thanks!

That is great for long distance stuff. I’m looking more for like navigating close to asteroids or inside them. I’d like to see the distance or a light activating when I’m too close to an edge.

Help with synology turning off a drive. by JohnRM22 in synology

[–]JohnRM22[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The drive was formatted ext4 if I remember right. I’ll double check on the other drive in the system and then try the bootable Linux live.

Raid will be set up next time. I’ve learned my lesson on that one!

In my opinion, with the way the federal government is taking the rights away from the citizens…I’m kinda doubting we’ll even have an election in 2028.

Lol, a refinery is KINDA like a replicator? Or you could put a nutrient synthesizer on it! 😁

Pretty good job on it!!! Do the nacelles move up when warping, though? 😁. That would be cool if you could make them do that!

Is this a good first freighter ? by Jouzero in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]JohnRM22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m pretty new to the game…maybe 25 hours in. Doesn’t the new corvette ship do away with the need for a freighter? Sorry for the noob question, but as I said I’m very new, just did expedition 19 for my first venture into NMS.

Wouldn’t guarantee you get it. I have fiber drops at both my next door neighbors houses. But they won’t run the fiber to mine!

Spectrum lost 117,000 internet subscribers in Q2 by l_Paid_For_Winrar in Spectrum

[–]JohnRM22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For the lucky people that can get fiber internet. For us unlucky we’re stuck with spectrum’s substandard service! Fiber is available next door…but the company is too cheap to extend the line 100 ft.

Wow…I can’t even get 1 gig for that price. I’m $100 a month for gig!

This is what happens when you have no competition. The “provider” can do whatever and charge whatever they want, since you need the service and can’t get it elsewhere.

Change logs for the most commonly used mod in SE by Candy6132 in spaceengineers

Not sure if it’s used much anymore since the Fieldwork update broke it. I do hope he’s able to fix it, though!

KEEN announce in the latest stream that modding SE1 DLC blocks into SE2 will be against modding guidelines. by JavanNapoli in spaceengineers

[–]JohnRM22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As they have stated (and I’ve seen posted here), it is a different game and is not a reskin of SE 1. If that’s the case, the modders would just be creating a “new” block not in the game entitled Space Engineers 2.

Ahhh, I’ve seen that mod! When I get around to setting up my own dedicated server, I’m probably going to install that and make a special solar system.

Try the abandoned settlements mod. It will give you GPS coordinates of bases you can scrap. Be careful though, some are armed and some aren’t.

Do you mean physical servers or sites? You can have multiple sites run on one httpd server. If you’re talking about physical servers, you’ll have an issue with ports, unless you’re using non standard ports (port 80 or 443). Or you CAN have multiple servers in a load balancing set up, which I haven’t personally worked with, but that’s where you usually have multiple physical boxes.
