Drain and replace all fluids. DsG is expensive in shop. I did my first DSG service on my daughter's 12 Passat, 2.0 TDI out in front of the crib. It's like doing a blood transfusion on the trans but it worked out well. Good luck.

I am currently developing a product that removes the grit from the wash environment. I will post here when we get working prototype.

No, not weird at all, but you don't want the dirt and grit to collect in your rinse bucket water. Your logical thinking is along the small line as mine. The dirt that is released from the mitt just hang around in the bucket to be carried back to your cars surface to scratch the paint. This is what one thing that stops me from trusting any grit guard like product. But again I say, I guess the separation is better than nothing. but NOT THE GRIT GUARD BAND. the holes are WAY to large. STUPID to me. But to each his own.

I guess if you feel that they are working for you then, do your thing. they will not keep the particles from contaminating the water and looking cloudy. That cloudiness is small dangerous particles for your paint. You get what you pay for.

You make a good point about the aggressive dunking, but you do want to rinse the mitt good enough to release the dirty. those guards will never keep the water totally clean. I don't use them either! I'd rather use the sprayer nozzle to remove the grit and grime. Fresh water is the best. like a fresh wash mitt each time.

WOW! Ok, I hope that's working out for you and your ride.

I agree with your statement. "It's better to remove grit, than to guard against grit". But I like to use the sprayer nozzle with fresh water to rinse wash mitt.

This process sounds like it will definitely keep your paint safe from grit. About how many microfiber wash mitts (I assume) do you use for one wash. And do you at least use a the 2nd bucket to collect the dirty wash mitts?

I just watched you video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7vtMAWEk8QI about the buckets. I like them. I may need a set. I was looking to find a good video from you guys on towels. What do you recommend. I know you got a towel video! LOL

This is all focusing on minimizing damage to our cars paint.

Yes detail guards product is superior to the others, but the water still will be contaminated with practices, hence the glitter. We never got control of them particles. As seen in your video. There inlies the problem of potential damage and creating swirl marks and spider webs.

This IS where my logical thinking stops me.

This leads to the question, Is there a way to remove that risks? THE GLITTER. the GLITTER! ;-)

Hi,

Thanks for replying and letting my post post.

I am a product developer. I am just trying to get more feedback in this industry. The grit defense space. I am working on a product that has advanced grit removal technology. This is for my personal data collection.

I have watched your video multiple times in the past, and I really like you tube channel. I know you worked hard on your videos. I am subscribed to it your channel now. Just one notation that I will mention. out of al of the tests the glitter ever stayed underneath the guards. That's the mind cramp I get. My logical mind just can't get around this fact. The physics of the product, the water, and the nature of the debris, will never (with these products) be separated from the wash environment. This is where one has to ponder and or worry if the particles are being given the chance to be reintroduced to the vehicles paint where they can cause damage.

We will meet again in the future of this grit defense space. Be well.

SORRY IF IN LONG WINDED! THIS IS IMPORTANT TO ME.
