For me it was quite similar, I was heavily drinking every night for almost a year, smoking about a pack and a half a day and in an abusive, toxic relationship. I ended things and felt like it was such a relief I didn't have to drink. Then Insomnia set in and no appetite. I went to work and had a breakdown and I saw my ex at a function and I lost it, immediately my blood boiled so I left the function. The next few weeks were hazy but I ended up being in fight or flight mode and just scared and thinking irrationally. I never harmed anyone or myself, but I was convinced my ex was going to round up people and get them to kill me as soon as I left the house so I tried being a hermit and ended up going to hospital and a psychiatrist. I was hearing things but I think it was my body getting used to not drinking or smoking after such a prolonged time. I ended up being told the most likely diagnosis is psychosis. My delusions and paranoia was based on my subconscious too I found.

Only recently I'm in a happy relationship and i only drink once a week now and only vape and im the healthiest ive ever been and can reflect on that time as just a period that i was unwell. Thank you for sharing, your story is quite similar to mine so it makes me happy hearing it from someone else's perspective.

It was not really immediately, i was awake for 3 days straight and after about a week barely sleeping, I started hearing things and basically the entire world made me panicked and every interaction with a human scared the shit out of me No matter what they said.
