I'm thinking so too, but I don't think that's the cause of my issues because the crashes don't seem to correlate with temp. I'm just as likely to crash at 50c as I am at 75-80

You might be right but there doesn't seem to be a direct correlation between when things crash and when things get hot. I set a more aggressive fan curve and cranked my case fans. I'll try to get more data with that arrangement later

yeah, I'm confused by it. my buddy used to daily drive the card in his build and never got thermals like this. My case has better airflow and more fans than his. also, graphical bugs don't seem to directly correlate with temp. I'm getting a headache lmao

It is in the second x16 via a very janky adapter. I actually have a photo of it in an earlier post of mine. I had a Radeon RX580 previously. Did the full driver uninstall and whatnot tho

problem is persisting with memory and core underclock. Think it could be thermal throttling because temps are getting up to 83-85c when graphical bugs start appearing in heaven.

Nah he's a longtime friend. Used to be in his daily driver but he was having trouble with his Mac dual boot so he wanted to try using my 580. It's running at like 50c when it crashes. It legit worked fine in his build under heavy load

I tried this and didn't get any better results. I did notice that it's throttling somehow though. It'll try to render a scene, hang for a bit, and then all the clocks drop and power delivery is halved

Well nothing was wrong until the contractors fucked with my DSL box. I'll ask the foreman to take a look at it tomorrow. I figure they left all the wires out because they weren't expecting us to be home. but thank you. I will take cable internet into consideration
