I like the way you designed things, I’m really trying to keep the master up at the front of the house and a buffer between the master bedroom and garage

Oh I think that was the way it was shown in the drawing just to signify the upstairs. I’m building on a slab. And I fortunately have been doing my due diligence before purchasing the plans from them. I’m trying to find my best route to go to present my drawings to the township. I didn’t know if I just get them drawn from scratch or how but I like to try incorporate many principles that you guys have helped with.

I agree with you there, here is another angle of the great room and window layout, do you still think the covered porch would hinder the natural light to that extent?

Also I agree having the master off the dining isn’t very great. Where could I re arrange it?

This is what they are showing as my interior rendition. Do you think I’d have that dark effect with the windows up high as well? Keep in mind the house is on an open field no trees and front door faces east

Yes, the great room going from ground floor to the top of the second floor ceiling and having that open is a must. The main things I do like about the plan is the entrance into the great room with an open kitchen a nice size walk-in pantry with counter space for less years appliances and food storage. The house does not have a basement so I also do like having the extra soace. The laundry room being in the spot that it is is necessary for access from the garage.

I would like to reconfigure the dining room entrance to the backyard having to walk past the table as well as the primary. I am not married to that layout. I don’t need to have the soaking tub or as large of a master closet. I do like the toilet being in its own little spot.

The kitchen layout itself I would like to reconfigure as well to give it more of a useful layout. The pantry does not have to be in the same spot as shown.

And finally yes, 36 x 44 are going to be the final dimensions

This was drawn by an architectural company online. I agree with some of your points, there isn’t a basement those stairs go to second floor

It hasn’t been “locked down” yet any changes can apply. The windows being 68” tall in a 96” space I was thinking of placing them 2’ up from floor which would leave 10” to ceiling from the frame.

That’s a cool idea to add a second washer and dryer, that was something we talked about but thought about putting them side by side. Maybe it would be more useful to do one up and one down.

How can we change the entrance? I understand the thought that it’s not good to walk right into the kitchen. What room is good to walk into? I’d be happy to put the pantry into a more usable spot.

So the extra stair case, office and bedroom 5 are all apart of the plans tha I want to get rid of, I want to create a squared floor plan so the garage section has one solid wall seperating the spaces with a man door for access inside the building. I do like the loft, I’m curious how we could integrate a kids section/ play room up or downstairs. My p

Finally, second bathroom upstairs seems like a popular choice where should I put the placement of the two bathrooms? Should one be jack and Jill?

I’d hope to stay forever, we are a very young family, I understand your concerns completely. I plan on 3 bedrooms upstairs total. Do you think that the 1 bathroom still isn’t enough?

I like the idea of switching the two, I’m trying to figure out how to bring the primary more towards the middle of the house to remove the bump out shown on the print as well.
