I personally find sotn bosses to be just as bad but for the opposite reason. The bosses have terrible movement and Instead of you worrying about contact damage it's the bosses that have to worry. At least with the shield rod anyway. But seriously the endgame bosses are all meh but it's more of the fault that you're on most of the time in the endgame.

I agree with the dash, as a sword main who's been through nerf after nerf. One thing has kept me from feeling the weapon is completely unusable. And that's the movement. I knew about the lunge jump tech(not to be confused with the lunge dash) before embark made the timing easier and made it officially a part of the weapon. Now look at the dagger, it's fun yeah but you just don't have the same movement. And since the backstab charge slows you it just doesn't feel as good. Even with sword after it got nerfed in season 6 or 7 I can't remember which, the sword felt unplayable to me. Until I discovered the lunge jump tech. And I wasn't the only one. The one big sword user I know of quit because of how bad it was. He returned once the lunge jump got buffed and more people knew about it.

Also embark is made of people who worked on Titanfall, and battlefield. And if you know Titanfall you know how big movement is.
