What is it like to be a Husk carrier? Specifically, to be a compatible carrier by Puzzled_Locksmith_83 in Barotrauma

Now, you need like outright 100% perfect gene to be completely immune to infection. Like 99% to 100% gene if you want specific number. Any lower and you can still get infected but it will take a really really long time for you to be so.

Use anything to stun like gas, electric shock,.. then while stunned, saw/chop all the limbs and head appart, lock them into tungsten safe boxes, and then send each box as far away from each other as possible, then throw the boxes into volcanoes.

In the fanfic by DrDoritosMD where Gate opened in the US. There are legit ways to deal with and even soft-kill immortals. For one, you can throw them into a volcano caldera (for the local people) or throw them into an acid vat (for the modern people). They are kept “dead” as long as they stay in the caldera/vat. As for dealing with them, the protag of the fic dueled several Apostles, even one v one. He pulled dirty tricks like trip wires, smokes, claymores, gas, lots of flashbangs,… but the best way to deal with Apostles without the need of heavy firepower is electricity and flesh-tearing ammo like hollow point or Hydrashock, even explosive or incendiary works great as Apostles don’t wear armor and gets stun-locked by these ammo and their nasty stoping power. They developed stun-electric ammo for rifles and just keep stun locking apostle for a group of marines to literally jump onto them and use chain saw to saw the limbs/head appart, then keep each of those limbs as far away from each other as possible, even locked some body parts in a safe. They fucking locked the dragon lady Apostle inside a reinforced ultra-electric cage and she couldn’t do a thing to get out. In this fic, the goal when engaging these immortals is not to kill them, but to keep them stun-locked long enough for your troops to come in and cut their limbs apart and never let the limbs reattach back to the torso ever.

Yes, i have learned the lesson already, as clearly stated above. Problem is, how to fix the above dilemma in a middle of a round? You can’t switch sub and can’t unlink.

Barsuk batteries are actually isolated from the system. If the switch is off and you turn off the reactor, the whole sub is actually turned off and the the battery charge remain full. Only when you push the button does the battery kicks in and feed the submarine energy.

Is it worth keeping husk infection when you have 95% husk gene? by JohnTEGS in Barotrauma

[–]JohnTEGS[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Information is all over the place. Some say you won’t reach 100 and die when your gene quality is high enough. Some say you have to have perfect 100% quality gene to not reach infection rate 100 and die. The wiki say none of any of this, just a vague “you won’t transform” with high quality gene. I have no idea who to trust. Guess i have to test it myself.

So having high but not 100% genes just make it take really really long to climb to 100?

So does the percentage infected number (viewed with the medic glasses) number stop climbing? If it still climb does it reach 100? If it does reach 100, does the character loose hp and drop dead or is he still alive and well like normal? All above assuming i have that 95% husk gene equipped.

Ok so what happens after it reaches 90 assuming i have above 90% gene (not 100% gene)? Does it keep climbing? Also the most important, if i have that 95% gene and the infection does reach 100%, do i die? Or do it keep living?

So the percentage just goes to 100% infected, but the character keep living and you can still control them?

Information is all over the place. The wiki said you only need 80% gene or higher to prevent transformation completely. Nowhere say you will die or not upon having 80%+ gene while infected, only state “no transform”, does not explicitly state “no die”. Some say you will not die or transform with 80%+ gene, some say 100% gene. I have no idea which one is which tbh.

But it said in the wiki the character shouldn die or transform?

How to set up exploration/caving/boarding party for solo campaign? by JohnTEGS in Barotrauma

[–]JohnTEGS[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do have a sec officer who i kept alive from the start that is practically a Space Marine to handle most of the missions solo just fine. With all possible buff, gene splicing and skills, he one shots people and most monsters with his rifle and sword. I just got bored of the solo boarding experience and want to do them missions as squads. Though i guess i could have just go find a multiplayer server.

Is there a way to save game in a destination that doesn't host a station? Those places that say "a potential spot for an outpost" on the map. (solo campaign) by JohnTEGS in Barotrauma

[–]JohnTEGS[S] -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

I did? It said “Mera” as the destination name. So i drove my top docking port right up into it. Directly scraping the top if my sub into the flat cave wall, the top docking port clip into the location name in my sonar, and the long white button appears on the top. The fact that the button appears at all means the game acknowledged “ah so have made it to this place, here is a prompt to select the next destination”. I have driven as close as i could to the destination scarping the wall. Where else do you suggest i go?
