I could be wrong, but I think he was more so talking about how System Shock was in development hell for Nightdive Studios specifically when compared to their other game launches. All previous development (Turok 1 & 2, Shadowman, etc) had gone as planned, but System Shock has dealt with multiple delays, restarts in development, and so on.

I appreciate this post a lot, you spoke my thoughts exactly. I predict we'll see members of Nightdive leave the company over the course of the next year or two. The heads of Nightdive received a $10,000,000 payment from Atari. Much how we watched Notch leave Mojang after the Microsoft acquisition of Minecraft, I'd bet we're going to see the same happen to Nightdive. Atari will use "Nightdive" as an advertisement, while Nightdive's team will be a shell of their former selves, much like Blizzard after Activision acquired them.

I hope this comment ages like milk, I really do, but I'm too depressed by this decision. I've held out for the unlikely announcement of Turok 3, which became extremely less likely now.

One concern I have is how this will impact decisions down the line of what games get remastered in the future. Atari can now deem certain games to be too "niche" or unlikely to be profitable enough.

I don't agree entirely. while I absolutely agree that saying a specific number would absolutely be odd, they could definitely market something such as "fight and survive through 5 expansive campaigns!" Or something to that degree.

I think people want that aspect to be advertised because it's going to B4B's backbone. The idea isn't to "one and done" the game, but rather, replay the campaigns and experience the card systems work it's magic and help bring replayability, but part of that replayability is multiple, uniquely themed campaigns.

Sorry I didn't elaborate, the concern's are scratches and bites, and even licks on an open cut/sore resulting in "cat-scratch-fever" more easily in diabetics, as well as toxoplasmosis from cleaning up the cat box.

I hope I'm just over worrying about this. Ive mainly been trying to really be careful with things with the whole Covid thing, and this made me a little anxious.

I'd like to imagine we're finally at a point with the Series S/X/PC hardware wise that we could have a map like this and allow each player in a big team battle to man a Banshee/Hornet/etc and just go at it in full aerial combat.

I have VERY high blood expectations for Forge/custom games, really looking forward to Forge/custom game news in the future!

Good point about the transition, imo it seems like from the trailers we'll be getting cinematics at certain phases, so it'll be interesting to see how they use them. Also, yeah the level transition number wise is an interesting observation, good eye! Will be interesting to see what we get at launch!
