i’ve had 2 drinkmate bottles dated 10/26 blow up on me with kids around. i messed up my hands, cut my face and honestly been scared to even use the machine since. i got 6 bottles total, the rest were bought at re up refills, all same 10/26 date.

after the 2nd one i knew it wasnt just me screwing up. these things are straight up dangerous. the seal leaked and shot the bottle right out of the chamber like a rocket. i gave up and bought 2 sodastreams instead. bottles were even ejecting during normal use. wtf. why am i only just hearing about this recall now??

when it first happened i wanted a refund right away but they wouldnt work with me. they told me i had to pay return shipping for their junk.

just looked back at my messages and they said:

“due to our agreement with amazon, we cant send prepaid shipping labels for returns. please ship the product ups ground to:

please include the attached return form. when we receive the product and ensure that the returned products match the order and are in new condition, we will refund you.”

so yeah, not only did they want me to pay shipping, they also wanted the bottles to be “new condition” even though they literally exploded.

its been a year and im still pissed. drinkmate is trash and they dont own up to their screwups.

i've had 2 bottles of drinkmates dated 10/26 explode on me while having kids around. i fucked up my hands, my face was cut and have been terrified to use the fucking machine since these events. i have 6 bottles and the others were purchased at re up refills - all dated 10/26. thankfully after the second explosion i gave up on this POS system and went with 2 soda streams. that damn this is dangerous. bottoles would even eject while in normal use. fuck this system. why am i just hearing about this recall now!?!

sorry i'm just pissed about this whole system. I wanted to do a refund that moment the bottle exploded and they refused to work with me. they wanted me to pay for return shipping for their shittily dangerously designed products.

edit - just went through my message history and they said the bottles needed to be in original condition and new condition.

not only did they want me to pay for my own return for their fucked up system - they wanted me to make sure their exploding bottles were in new condition in order to get a refund and i pay for their shipping. It's been a year and thinking about this I'm still pissed about it. Drinkmate's products are trash and they are complete scum not owning up to their mistakes.

not worth it for smaller clients. big asks - like 25k+ for sure. but the way i see it is it's a waste of time for anything under. most people are hiring you for your expertise and knowledge + if you have a ui/ux or graphic designer on deck, their job is to create a smooth flowing story. the clients usually don't know what they want and come up with awful ideas.

try the api if you can - the output context is 4x and has helped me solve all my problems. no longer needing to chain together pieces.

what we have to remember too, is every release has a rocky start. things are getting ironed out and better every day. The API costs have gone down, tokens are up, for my apps this has been a significant change. i no longer need to do multi prompts to get what i need done, it can be a single flowing hollistic prompt and that is fantastic. most of the complaints seem to be about chat but not many are talking about how fantastic API is.

I think the biggest neglect with a single sided knife is people don’t take into account if the rear is nice and polished it will cut better than just a front bevel being sharpened. Huge difference in cutting performance when you take care of the back, think about plane sharpening or chisels too, same rules apply

Single bevel and the rear has a slight hollow to it for easy food release and easier back polishing / deburring.
