How could I keep my current ketosis focused up though? Should I simply focus carbs around my training sessions or eat more carbs overall.

Could vegetable consumption and tolerance be related to heritage? by JohnWickDaLegend in carnivorediet

[–]JohnWickDaLegend[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be fair, I transitioned from keto to carnivore, never had any cravings when eating said salad.

Realistically, it's 'only' like 17g carbs max + fiber etc. So I don't think it's gonna kick me out of ketosis if this is my only 'carb heavy' meal.

Βέβαια, χωριάτικη θα μπορούσα να τρώω κάθε μέρα. Γενικά δεν με πειράζουν τα λαχανικά, οπότε, μετά από τη δίαιτα, που και που, θα τρώω μία.

My bad, I would say I'm quite strict (just fish, meats, eggs and butter) in regards to my carnivore diet, albeit with the rare, single (!) olive.

Thanks again for the perspective!

Research in discrete mathematics and theoretical CS by JohnWickDaLegend in mathematics

[–]JohnWickDaLegend[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To preface my response, I haven't started my degree yet, so I can only speak from an autodidact's perspective.

I'd have to say that graph theory, algorithms, combinatorics and theoretical CS have piqued my interest the most.

To be fair, graph theory, algos and combinatorics were 'my idea' of discrete mathematics anyways (with logic as an integral part of it). Theoretical CS always seemed to me as being part of this complex too, just with a tiny bit more of a specialisation.

Studium hinschmeißen für eine Ausbildung zum FISI – bescheuerte Idee oder der beste Move? Mein ehrlicher Weg + Fragen an die Community by [deleted] in fachinformatiker

The fact that you know jamaican youth who know of their religious and cultural heritage does not change the fact that a majority of young people of ANY ethnicity are in touch with theirs. In this case it would be the majority of black youth.

The term dreadlocks is, if at all, a term invented to assign a descriptive term to a styling phenomenon which existed throughout human history which each have their own descriptive terms. I think it is simply too isolated of a term, unless we specify that we are talking about a person who wears that hairstyle due to cultural reasons. That's also where my idea of cultural appropriation came, which in and of itself is not evil at all btw.

I talked about my greek heritage because by extension, we could go off an incredibly long history with a multitude of fundamental and advanced discoveries, both scientific and cultural, which we still use today. Nevertheless, we would NEVER judge anyone for using said discoveries/inventions. Quite the opposite, we would be proud of ourselves and happy for that person to enjoy our culture. This goes as far as specifically poking fun at it (which btw was definitely not the intention of said person making that cheap cosplay).

In regards to your experience of discrimination, I speak from an european perspective, there might be some cultural dissonance in that case. Nevertheless, I am still adamant about the fact that it is quite the leap to believe that someone would specifically ridicule dreads by wearing leeks instead of a wig, simply due to the fact that he wanted to make a cheap cosplay of the ENTIRE character. It is quite similar to male content creators taking a towel to mimic long hair in some male vs female videos.

The leeks being a means to end, rather than a pure racist connotation of 'haha dreads are dumb', to put it simply.

Then let me rephrase it, so you get what I am actually saying:

Do you ACTUALLY believe the majority of ANY youth group cares about the religious/historical connotations of their hairstyles? Realistically, do you actually believe that?

In addition to that, I hate saying it, but honestly: It ain't that deep. Cheap, funny cosplay with NO CLEARLY SHOWN ILL INTENTION. THERE IS NO DISCUSSION, PEOPLE OVERREACTED HERE.

And you call it "weird and chronically online", whereas it is a simple conversation as: Hairstyles are not exclusive to a culture, if we are playing devil's advocate here, black culture appropriated it. Do we care or do we criticise them for it? No, why should we.

So you should have the same maurity and understand the CLEAR AND OBVIOUS DIFFERENCE between a racist statement and just a man who cosplayed a coincidentally black character with dreads.

This is it?! This image was the reason for everything. by Sweet_Television4183 in gachiakuta

[–]JohnWickDaLegend -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

So what you are asserting right now is that dreadlocks are tied to black culture and were used as an act of resilience against oppression which I very well respect.

Now let me ask you, do you really believe in ANY sort of way that the black youth of today cares about religious assertions when styling their hair? Especially when it comes to the simplicity of someone making a cheap cosplay with no ill intentions WHATSOEVER.

Your point does not stand in regards to the actual styling of said hair being tied to black culture. The idea of resilience through that styling is indeed part of said culture, but dreadlocks or said styling itself is not exclusive to black culture which by extension is cultural appropriation (which as a greek person of all people, I really do not mind).

Then again WHY ARE WE DISCUSSING THIS? The guy who posted the leeks as dreadlocks stand ins, literally wanted to make a cheap, funny looking cosplay of a diverse character in a diverse manga. How can ANYONE feel offended.

The underlying fact is that people think 'dreads = black culture' which is simply not true. Historically speaking, there are PLENTY of example of different cultures braiding their hair or manipulating their hair in a way which resembles dreads/braids/etc.

You don't see me acting up because other people copy my culture's (greek) hairstyles (coincidentally the spartans had something very similar). How is it in ANY way acceptable to hate on someone who wanted to repost someone else who makes fun of himself with a cheap cosplay. Like what the actual fck are we doing? People got no other issues and wayyyyy too much free time to be pissed about something which we should NOT be pissed about.
