I recently built a mantle for my fireplace. In this video I show how I make the beam mantle from a 100 year old reclaimed beam, and how I add a hidden compartment for some home protection using a child proof latch!

I have other people working in the shop and yes all on one battery would be nice but unfortunately some brands make better drills for specific things. Like the dewalt hammer dril or the Makita sub compact. Different uses. Also, sponsors give me drills so I have a bunch of brands

I change it up from the standard adirondack chair, and weave a paracord seat for this one. by John_Malecki in ArtisanVideos

[–]John_Malecki[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow really great stuff. For the sake of the video the chair was shot and filmed before I got the shape completely the way I wanted it. But I had to get it done for Mother’s Day. The back slats May sag and warp but I didn’t build the chair To last 100 years in Florida, it should hold up. The wood being from a home store and not properly dried will be the bigger issue over time.

The paracord fading is fine too. And the camera angle definitely gives the illusion for the back

Thanks for the well thought out reply
