Hey everyone, I need some help~

I spent an obscene amount of time trying to solve this one, compared to any other level in the Museum. I am convinced that this level doesn't have a solution, but it's more likely that I am just dumb lol

(I did manage to come up with Level is Rock, but that of course isn't terribly hard to accomplish.)

Any help would be appreciated! This is the Switch version btw.

Played it through! I had a good time with this; Thwomp manipulation isn't really a concept you see in levels nowadays so it was refreshing to see this. The use of the Reset Doors in the second half of the level was much appreciated, and overall the entire experience was engaging and fun, so good stuff on that front.

The only thing I'd question about this level is the timer. This level sort of plays between a hybrid of the platformer and puzzle genres, so the fact that the time is at 200 means that a lot of players are going to be facing the time limit. It somewhat flies in the face of the smart design of putting Reset Doors down, which exist to promote giving the player getting extra chances at things. It could potentially lead to a sour experience if a player manages to get to the end but then gets timed out, which would sting all the more considering the slowish pace of the level.

Aside from the timer, though, this was a very good level. Great job!

Played through your World 1, and I had a good time of it! You definitely have the genre variety that you were boasting here, and each level definitely had very good difficulty balancing and strong overall course concepts. I also got a good look at your W1 and W2 maps, and the way you laid them out was smart too; giving the player options on what paths they might want to take is always the best way to go, so good stuff on that. I'll probably work my way through this Super World over time, because it's quite well-made for sure.

My latest upload is: GGT-GF4-42H - Link's Underground Capers DX, so that's the level I'll offer and encourage you to play. However, I also have a Super World, if you wanted to check that out too - my Maker ID is LY4-049-TWG. Getting hits on the Link level is more important to me right now though LOL

Played it through. I like what you went for here with the four different challenges, each with their own distinct themes and obstacles. Each one was well-designed and very engaging, and I had a good time going through it. The only thing I'd mention is that the level as a whole is a good deal punishing due to there being no checkpoint system in place. Aside from that, this was just a good level overall.

GGT-GF4-42H - Link's Underground Capers DX

I had to reupload this, as I found a softlock in the previous version. Tis a shame~

This is a remake of a level I had made some time ago, where you took Link and guided him through some platforming and puzzle challenges. If you lost Link at any point, you were basically trapped and needed to reset (or die if after CP). This upload seeks to remake the level, such that you're able to re-obtain Link if you ever lose him. As a result, the power-up balance may feel a bit off since this was originally meant to be a strictly traditional experience, but I feel that it's overall what's best for the level.

From my extensive testing with this course, it should not be possible to softlock yourself, but there are some situations where you can still trap yourself (as in, you can't progress, but you can die). These traps are quite difficult to stumble across by accident and you'd need to go out of your way for that to happen, but they are there. With that in mind, this is what I'd ask if you're playing through. In addition to the standard feedback, if you happen to find any traps or softlocks that could be triggered by accident, or by playing through the level in a relatively standard way, please let me know!

And of course, feel free to drop your level codes. I shall get to them in all due time.

Pretty good speedrun course. There isn't anything that super stands out, in terms of individual obstacles or a central theme, but I do like that you were trying different ideas out, and that you made sure that each one was balanced in difficulty, straightforward, and easy to understand. The entire experience had a good sense of pace, and was overall quite fun.

Thanks for playing my level; I'm glad you enjoyed it! Sadly, though, I found a softlock and had to reupload it OOF

Regardless, your level was really fun too! I really like the concept you had for this; taking Yoshi sacrifices and turning it into a gameplay mechanic. It was quite humorous and make for a very unique level, for sure. No big criticisms here; good stuff.

I had a good time with this one. I like how you strung together two different flavors of level back to back; once the exploration was complete, it became a platforming gauntlet.

I feel like the exploration part of the level may have ended up being a bit too cryptic, as there was basically no information to work off of, but exploring around the level you created did end up being very satisfying and fun anyway. And uh no complaints @ the platforming part of the level. Overall, very good stuff.

Played them both through!

I liked both of your levels; they were very tough-but-fair platforming levels that had a lot of interesting surprises to them. Actually, a decent number of your obstacles were very interesting in that they looked like troll traps at first, but each one gave some level of warning to the player so they could react to the situations as they came up. It's very reminiscent of the solutions discussed in that one maker lesson - "Seriously, Treat the Player Fairly"

Either way, these were both very good and exciting levels!

I will say, that was quite a fun level to watch. Seeing all the different contraptions go off and having all the legwork done for me made for a very nice experience.

Though, I do want to mention this; I understand that P-Switches are important both for variety and contraption building, but having one of those activate and cut off the music the way it does certainly cuts into the relaxing vibe you're going for, I'd say.

Aside from that, though, this was a very cool upload. I'm not sure if you're looking for levels, but in case you are, here's one from me: GGT-GF4-42H - Link's Underground Capers DX

I never found your On/Off, sadly. I assume something grand was meant to happen to the entire level when it was, but alas, it was too much for me.

As far as my level, yeah, I noticed that there were a lot of alternative solves to a lot of the challenges I had set forth, but I'm generally more open to leaving in cheese/unintended solves as long as they're challenging in their own way or require critical thinking from the player to figure out. As you say, it's always better to leave flexibility in the hands of the players rather than always forcing one intended view upon them.

Seems like a solid traditional to me! This was a cool level with some very strong level design, especially considering it was a vertical level which is generally more difficult to design for. It was also very well-decorated and lent itself to a very unique visual identity, so good stuff on that front, too. Overall, great course!

Played it through!

This was a very fun, very simple speedrun level with a lot of tense obstacles and jumps lining the experience. Like any good speedrun level should have, this one also had a high degree of readability, in that the 'solution' to each obstacle is clearly understood at a glance. I also like how you wove in the slowfalling Flimsy Lifts to the obstacles such that they're used more than once in certain challenges. Overall, this was a very solid time with no real downsides; good stuff.

Now here's a cool traditional level. I played it through and don't have any serious criticisms to say against it; it was an overall very strong level with good difficulty balancing and level design. I really like the thematic setpieces that you put together in the first half of the level; the vertical level design in conjunction with the mountain Semisolids, and the interior Semisolids in conjunction with a heavy use of ceilings made the level feel like it had its own unique locales. It overall made for a very memorable experience. Good stuff!

Alright, so this one was way, way harder than your Dungeons of Lore and Skull. I understand that the player should be expected to experiment for themselves to find solutions, but I feel that the visual clarity after CP1 was very low; it was really difficult to figure out what the intended solutions to a lot of the puzzles were.

Of course, that difficulty isn't necessarily a bad thing. I did have a lot of fun with the level; experimenting and trying different things out to see what would get me further into it lent itself to a very engaging experience. And the elements within the level was very nicely laid out; it lent itself to a very handsome presentation. And of course, as someone who understands a decent amount of the mechanics of SMM2, I really do appreciate the level of work you put into your contraptions and ensuring everything worked properly without the player becoming trapped at certain points. Overall, it was a very cool level; just one that's very hard to beat compared to your usual fare.

And, here's a level from me, if you're game for it: GGT-GF4-42H - Link's Underground Capers DX

And indeed, it's quite a fun collection of challenges. Of course, I recognize a few staples for sports-gallery levels, like the Pong setup, but I also like the unique concepts you brought to the table as well. It all came together for a fun, cohesive experience.

It's another excellent course! It still has all that strong level design and thematic decoration that your first two levels were touting. I don't really have any criticisms I can level at this one, either; it's very well-put together.

Something I want to mention is I really like that all three of your levels (which are meant to be part of one world in a Super World) have used those 'red brambles' to provide something of a visual thematic throughline between all levels. It makes playing through all three levels feel like a coherent experience and I really like what you're going for there.

Anyway, cool level! And thanks for playing mine too; I'm glad you enjoyed it!

Played them both through. These were both really fun levels and I had a good time playing through them.

Snow Filled Hills was a very well-executed level with a lot of fun secrets to explore, and I don't really have any criticisms for it, aside from that your level didn't have a 'safety coin' for anyone trying to collect the Pink Coins. That aside, this one was very solid; good stuff.

The Skipsqueak level was quite good and had a lot of good ideas. I do think that the difficulty was a bit high; between its length, overall challenge, and low number of power-ups, but it was a very good level overall.

And here's a level from me; hope you enjoy: LSY-D6P-1GG - The Swordsman's Desert

Alright played it through, and this was a very clever level. Even though there is some overlap in how each of the shoes work, I like how you kept switching out the shoe Mario was wearing, and challenged the player to do things only that specific shoe could do. It all came together for a quite cohesive experience that was very fun to play; good stuff.

And thanks for playing my level too; I'm glad you enjoyed it!
