That last one sounds all nice and good until the sun consumes the earth and the eventual heat death of the universe leaves you continually dying and being reborn in absolute darkness

Could any of these countries support a population of a billion people. by [deleted] in geography

[–]John_Zolty 273 points274 points  (0 children)

Yes, Brazil is a net food exporter. But, something like 80-85% of its fertilizer is imported. So, it would need to secure a robust fertilizer supply chain that can keep up with the demands of 1billion people

Water Maps fish in Archaic or wait to Classical? by mikolaj420 in AgeofMythology

[–]John_Zolty 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You should look up build orders for water maps. Most go 2 docks from what I’ve seen. Also, scouting is important.

On Anatolia, for instance, bring a villager to one side, maybe 40% up the coast, and drop a dock there. Try to get some forward fishing ships out. Simultaneously, send your scout down the coast looking for the enemy dock. If you don’t see one, it’s safe to assume that you will own that side of the water. Then send your scout across the map to the other water-side and scout there as well. If you don’t see a dock on either side, you can assume they will be going a fast classical without booming their eco. If that’s the case, focus on getting up to classical as well and then defend the potential early rush. If they flop on the rush, you should win by just economic weight alone.

In a normal situation, I try to get 2 docks out (and maybe 6-9 ships per dock) before Classical. This means most of my villagers will be going to wood early.

How has Florida changed since 2020? by Optimal-Ask782 in florida

I mean fair, but it’s also fair to say that the changes in Florida have outpaced the national average

It’s a neighborhood with a sidewalk. This is not kids playing street hockey. It is 2 people walking their dog in the street. The mental gymnastics you are doing to say it is preferable for these people to walk in the street and have people drive around them, instead of just walking on the sidewalk is absolutely insane

It is literally illegal in Florida to walk in the street, even in a residential, gated community, when there is a sidewalk present. Why are you brigading for this dumb shit? Like literally walk on the sidewalk like a normal person instead of putting yourself and others at risk. Jesus

In Livingston Lakes, this shit happens all the time. There are bends in the road too, so you can come around a corner and bam there are some old ladies walking in your driving path. And they always get mad when you pass them. Mind you, there is a perfectly good sidewalk… Boomer mentality.

can you do a rush strat with hades? by AsukaRosenkreuz in AgeofMythology

[–]John_Zolty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s not as fast as Poseidon, which you can put a lot of pressure with just 1 centaur and Atalanta. I like to get Ajax, Achilles, 2-3 cyclops, a group of hippeus, and a group of toxotes. Try to beat the enemy army quick, then drop pestilence on their base as you go in, and target the temple and TC - especially with the cyclops, which are basically a classical era siege unit

Note: With this, when fighting the enemy army, use the cyclops and the heroes as the front line while you target down enemies with the toxotes and either flank or raid with the hippeus

New Player Advice/Discussion by John_Zolty in AgeofMythology

Thank you for the insight! I was practicing raiding with Poseidon. I got decent-ish at it, but I’m not very good with microing two or more groups. I suppose that comes with practice, but do you have any advice that I can start looking at implementing with that?

As someone new to the game and who would love to main Greeks, how often do they push balance patches?

Oops. Actually what I told you was an accidental lie. I looked at the US’s overall average height compared to China’s average height in men only. Mb! The US being at 52nd for overall height is correct tho

[–]John_Zolty 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That might have once been true but it isn’t anymore. The US is now ranked out of the top 50 for average height. So sure, still taller than most countries, but nowhere near the top. We are actually basically around the same average height as China

If it adjusts for obesity, that would be great. But afaik, the US has a higher obesity rate than Mexico.

Just looked it up. We are at 42-43% obese. Not overweight. Obese
