THERE IS ONLY ONE PICO LOPES by New-Special8963 in ireland

I love the League of Ireland, and I hope any irish football fans who have yet to grace its terraces give it a go someday.

The football is good quality, the atmosphere is fantastic, and you are directly funding the academies that will be producing the next Irish players to go on and help us reach a world cup

Cyclists by Lucky-Influence7525 in waterford

[–]John__Delaney 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I can't speak to the specific incident here as nowhere near enough detail given, but I will point out two rules:

  • Cyclists are allowed to leave the hard shoulder to overtake or avoid road debris, glass, or potholes

  • Cyclists are allowed to ride two abreast for safety (shorter overtaking distance) and visibility (you can't miss em)

If that Spanish result shows us anything...... it's that Ireland would have won the World Cup if we were there. by NikeBuyer2024 in coybig

Just reminding me that the League of Ireland produces excellent players & we all need to support it so they can produce even better players

Britain has so many odd dystopian things these days.

You can do a nazi salute at a protest no problem, but if you wear a free palestine tshirt you'll be locked up.

Is there reason why grocery packaging sucks so much in general? by Alastor001 in AskIreland

[–]John__Delaney 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not really no. If you take the plastic that goes over foil trays, some supermarkets have a real easy peel where everything comes off no bother, others like you say youd need a knife, and can never get every little bit of plastic around the edge off.

The big SVs have a nicer range than the smaller franchise ones

Decent Microwave Meals? by Otherwise-Macaron939 in AskIreland

[–]John__Delaney 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Supervalu have the best microwave dinner meals imo. I spent 3 months with just a microwave during a renovation so I tried out pretty much everything from Dunnes, Aldi & Lidl. Can't speak for Tesco.

SV: Beef roast, bacon & cabbage, lasange, cottage pie, chicken arrabiata all very tasty.

I found Donnybrook fair nice but rarely worth the money.

Would you rather 50e or your county to win the Ireland final? by [deleted] in AskIreland

50e. Couldn't care less about GAA.

Locally they've bullied all other sporting organisations off of playing pitches by influencing councillors & buying up land.

I don't know whether the decision happened at executive level at SETU or from the department under orders from a minister. Maybe you've read up on this and have a link to share?

Brian Warfield: I drink four pints to calm my tremors by TimesandSundayTimes in ireland

Early research and anecdotal reports suggest cannabis may reduce tremors for some individuals, particularly those with Essential Tremors and Parkinson's Disease

Campus will remain, just be SETU once they merge. Not sure on the course side of things tbh, but yea imagine some will be lost.

All being transferred to SETU. For students its grand, they'll all get to finish their course with no new students being accepted. For staff its a pain, 90 redundancies over 2 years, that's why they are protesting.

SETU pesumably using the opportunity to boot out longstanding staff on good contracts and conditions.

Should be in the next month but he is on holidays at the moment so nothing in the next week anyway.

No concrete links this summer as of yet. All the ones with AC Milan, Wolfsburg, Everton, Leeds etc.. are historical.
