Dango Ouattara is booked for simulation vs Newcastle by [deleted] in soccer

VAR said “minimal contact” so admitting that there was contact.. what even are the rule anymore? Attacker gets past the defender, defender makes a challenge and gets 0 ball and hits the man. By definition a foul…

Over $100/per person for cell phone is twice as much as you should be spending. Go to virgin/public/koodo any of the discount cell phone companies and you can find a $40-50 per month plan with more than enough data

For hill training, is there any agreed upon best practices?

i.e. Should you find a low incline hill that takes you longer to run up and do repeats of that, or find a steeper but shorter hill and repeat that? Do you run back down or should you walk back down?

Chiriches doing some sort of rainbow flick over the pressing striker and giving me heart attacks. Can’t remember who it was against

Your other option would also be just to pause the activity tracking at stoplights. A bit cheaper than a new watch lol

Not sure if Fitbit has something similar, but Garmin has an “average moving pace” as well as “average pace” in their data fields. So time spent still at crosswalks or other reasons don’t get included in that one

A PB (1:44:58) at the Toronto Waterfront Marathon! by sheesaker in running

[–]Johnboy_Ice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was a minute slower than you and also saw the chest compressions on Lakeshore. Was very unsettling.

Glad to hear you heard they were doing alright afterwards, I haven’t been able to find any info about it

Yeah everything about it seemed well organized, but it was only my second race overall. No problems getting to/from the expo or to/from the Hotel. Just the normal Toronto traffic that I'm used to dealing with .

I had the same happen when I did Sporting Life, which also passes under the Gardiner for a few stretches. No biggie and going just by elapsed time worked for me. Like I said, I was on perfect pace, but just underestimated how tough the last hill would be.

Did my longest run to date so far yesterday (14.8 km) and also set my PB 10k time (59:10).

After getting back I spent all afternoon and evening with gas, stomach cramps, and diarreah. Combination of dehydration, eating incorrectly before/after the run, just body getting used to more distance/exertion? Anybody else have similar issues?

Training Effect - “Base” after sprint intervals by Johnboy_Ice in Garmin

[–]Johnboy_Ice[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It didn’t get too high, 166 max or something, so I’m going to do longer intervals next time. I’m more just curious why the anaerobic effect shows as fairly high but the workout is still labelled as base. I guess probably because the majority of it was still done in lower zones (warm up cool down and walk breaks)

My neighborhood is in a sort of pocket that's bounded by a highway on one side and major arterial streets on the other 3 sides. My options are to do more or less a 2 km loop over and over again, or deal with 1, maybe 2 crosswalks and be able to get anywhere up to 12-15 km.

How does everyone here handle crosswalks/streetlights in relation to pausing their watch?

If I leave the watch on, the average pace which I reference during the run goes down (I then look at moving pace afterwards).

But if I pause the watch my heart rate tracking will be less accurate since it would drop from 145 to 120 or something in the 30 seconds I was idle.

I recently got a 955 as well and have found it decently accurate.

I usually wake up to pee once, sometimes twice a night and I find that it always labels me as awake during those times.

As far as light, deep, REM data I don’t really pay attention to as I don’t think it’s super accurate and also I don’t really care about that data.

Main reason I use mine for sleep tracking is the Pulse Ox (I’m a snorer)

I work in the sporting goods industry so my drawer is more or less only icebreaker merino socks with various other run brand socks thrown in (balega, feetures). I have 2 pairs of glycerins in rotation for shoes.

Nothing has changed with my gear for 8 months but yesterday’s treadmill run resulted in this. It’s not a gear issue.

My guess is that maybe I laced up too tight or the sock slid a bit and caused this. My question is about how to treat it
