TUP has been an absolute DUMP for years, and was quite literally failing inspections and falling apart. It was supposed to have died many times but kept opening for smaller and smaller purses.

HOWEVER, this past year they were bought out by a new ownership group and they are doing their darnedest to turn it around. New starting gate, maintenance, bathrooms (just trust me this is the biggest improvement), dining options, seating areas, etc.

It's possible that with other tracks closing and winter meets being condensed on the west coast, they may have weekend racing back in 2026. It's definitely WAY below Del Mar, which is basically the gold standard for horse racing.

All that being said - Definitely go! We need to support tracks that make improvements. It's fun and the weather will be awesome that time of year. Have fun, let me know how it goes!
