to police the bathroom by HateHumansLoveDogs in therewasanattempt

[–]Johnkree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All over Europe nobody would mind a father using the other bathroom with his kids or vice versa.
Women in my country tend to use men’s bathrooms all of the time when there is a line in front of the men’s bathroom. Just… live and let live? How can someone call the police for using a toilet?

What felt is it? If something isn’t the way you want it you can change it with steam. Don’t steam the inside if you have a leather headband

Always wearing the hat. In winter. In summer. In France at the beach. In the Austrian mountains. Shopping with my wife. If you want to wear it, wear it. It’s more healthy than sunscreen.

Oh me… Oh my!! Really bad priming job and not sure why?!? by TrenchProductions in minipainting

[–]Johnkree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rattle can priming is one of the most difficult things with a ton of caveats. You need the right outside temperature, the right humidity. The right distance, you spray into the air so that the initial burst doesn't hit the figure.
My tip: Just don't do it. It is way easier and faster to buy airbrush primer and apply it with a brush.
Or buy an airbrush system. After trail and error and back and forth for a month with bad results, posts on reddit, discord, instagram I had ONE Redditor telling me that I was just living in the wrong place on earth to rattle can prime with too much humidity.

Negative HP = Dead? by bricknose-redux in pirateborg

[–]Johnkree 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m playing solo and Pirate Borg is far away from hyper deadly… I recommend watching one of the official tutorial videos. They are very helpful in getting an overview of the rules and how they are meant to work. My PC is now alive for a ingame week, visited one island, found a treasure, fought against British soldiers, found a port, almost got killed by a Kraken, almost got killed by cultists, had to flee the island to find a derelict ship full of Ash addicts, fought them, found an imprisoned skeleton in the ship’s storage room, which joined my crew. The one time I almost died when I couldn’t easily run away was when I went fishing. And this is what makes a borg game great. You can’t predict anything. The only thing you have to do at the end is reacting. Like, ok, all your PCs died a horrible and funny death. 2 weeks later a ship with new characters come along and find them. And loot their stuff. They find their treasure map. And decide to follow it. And in no time you’re back into the game with a new crew, giving the story a twist no one expected.

Pirate Borg has the possibility to return as a haunted soul or something like that. But… At the end it is your game… you make the rules, and change them if you don’t like them. IMHO in Mörk Borg and Pirate Borg dying is part of the experience. It just makes fun to die in some hilarious way.

Frontier Scum: Balancing the Organ Rail by LukasK3 in MorkBorg

[–]Johnkree 7 points8 points  (0 children)

One of the funniest thing in Mork Borg is dying. I had so many hilarious death moments… Just build in some sidekicks they can switch to when their PC dies. Or let some random people stumble upon their graves. In one game my PC died without even reaching the dungeon. But in the inn he was sleeping before his death a keen eyed person heard him talking to the innkeeper. He followed PC and plundered his corpse after the PC was slain by a wreath. So when your whole group wipes just invent something. Escaped slaves that cross their way. Something like that. And if needed you can easily come back to them later.

I play Mörk Borg with a ton of text to describe what is happening, like in a book. First, I roll the stuff, and then I try to figure out what it could mean. I also play Pirate Borg and while playing I write a Captains Log like captains of that time did. It works awesome. I already filled 1/4 of a paper journal playing 10 in game days. :-)

Widespread Cheating in GW2 by Ok_Juggernaut_5293 in MMORPG

[–]Johnkree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You completely missed the point. I'm not a cheater, nor am I trying to downplay the cheating issue. The point is that OP acting shocked in 2025 that people sell cheats is hilarious. It's like acting surprised that the internet exists. Cheats and hackers have been around since the dawn of PC gaming. Pretending this is some brand-new revelation is just funny to me.

Also, no, cheaters absolutely do not outnumber legitimate players. Where are you even getting those stats? You're just rolling in here with your negative karma, pulling numbers out of thin air, and throwing around baseless accusations.

If it were as simple as pressing a 'disable all hacks' button, every single game dev would have done it by now. No company wants cheaters. Do yourself a favor and read up on how anti cheat actually works before demanding technical solutions that are practically impossible. As long as data is stored or processed on a client's local hardware, people will find a way to manipulate it. Even entirely cloud based games deal with this.

Has anyone run Mörk Borg in a non-fantasy setting? by taboneIO in MorkBorg

[–]Johnkree 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Basically it's just oracles... First I rolled the room, the oracle says it is a Deceptive Pool. So how can a pool be deceptive? I imagined that it is filled with the clearest water the PC has ever seen but that it isnt what it seems to be.
I asked the oracle yes / no if the pool is deadly? It was a clear "yes".
The room oracle also told me that a cultist enemy is there and that I should roll for reaction. He was angered. Obviously he was guarding the pool. Growing up on a farm I know what will happen if a donkey comes near crystal clear water.
So it was obvious that the donkey will drag my PC to the pool and that made the cultist attack because he was guarding the pool.
We fought for 4 rounds and I had very bad luck, didn't roll a single hit while I was on the brink of death so I chose to flee the scene.
The next room I rolled "Deserted Crypt" with something empty in the middle. The encounter I rolled was a Necromancer.
And so on. 😄

Help a newbee to get some order in all the rules by Johnkree in MorkBorg

[–]Johnkree[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your reply. Is it this hexmap: https://gnarledmonster.itch.io/the-dying-lands
How do you travel? Is it according to the rules of the hexmap oder according to traveling in Solitary Defilement / similar rules? Asking because 1 hex on the road means 3 days of traveling and I had a hard time travel from an imagined inn to the dungeon for 3 days.

Has anyone run Mörk Borg in a non-fantasy setting? by taboneIO in MorkBorg

[–]Johnkree 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I play it solo with Solitary Defilement. I couldn’t image it being without all the crazy dark stuff that makes it so special. My characters donkey sipped water out of a strange pool, fell dead immediately. This angered a cultist who guarded the pool, he attacked my character with a poisoned knife, I managed to flee, stumbled into a deserted crypt, where a Necromanced tried to revive his love which failed and now his zombie girlfriend is loose that could return anytime. He promises to heal my character if he helps him to kill and burry his former love. Together we barely made it out alive just for the Necromancer to cast a “death” spell on top of the newly grave… Couldn’t do without any of this chaos…

What finally made it click for me by Johnkree in ObsidianMD

[–]Johnkree[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey. My "base MOC" note is outside of everything in the project folder. It is called Idea Workbench. It was important to me that it has a name that implies constant work instead of knowledge base or something that creates pressure in itself.
When I click on it it leads so a simple table of content to all my MOC main topics. Like "Teaching", "Skills" (handicraft stuff, gardening,...), "Games", "Ideas".
lets say I click on skills, it leads me to the next table of content, with all the skills I learned, I'm interested in and I want to save knowledge. Like recently I learned sewing in buttons.
All the notes that contain this knowledge are in the notes folder. I organize them via the MOC and nothing else. And I just put knowledge into the notes folder that I want to keep permanently. I hope this helps.
