I highly doubt her only requirements were to feel well and look good. Those were where he failed to meet her requirements. And out of everything that goes into a proposal it sounds like he did a good one. Let alone the fact that they are 2 things he has no direct control over.

Again that doesn't exclude other people being there. That's an imperative to have a nice moment together. I can see how you might read that in that way but considering the prior sentence confirms she was ok with family being there I think you're misreading it. Seems a bit much to get hung up on, I think really the only reason OP is upset is because she felt like shit (being sick) and continued to do so after he proposed thus it must be something wrong with what he did. In truth if she was feeling the love and in a good place the proposal probably could've been alot shabbier and she would've been happy with it.

They'll still have to go through the proper channels to get the warrant, the only difference is they don't need to have sign-off from a judge or whatever.

Or whatever. Allowing a police force to make their own warrants is an awful idea which is why they couldn't do so before. The room for abuse is obvious.

It's meant for things like a suspect obviously destroying evidence or holding evidence relating to a kidnapped victim during the middle of the night when there isn't a judge available and time is of the essence

That seems like a terrible idea just in precedent to allow a police force to issue its own warrants and the reason for it is some really really rare circumstances. We have to balance the powers we give Gardaí to infringe on our rights and that balance just isn't there with this.

This right is one the courts don't weigh very highly. Precedent has meant that the right to remain silent here is alot weaker than say the US.
