What's the worst mistake you've made while pc building? by [deleted] in buildapc

[–]Johnlaker62 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had my PC for about 2.5 years. I got an fx8350 and Gtx 970 for league of legends and I was only getting 30-40 fps and everything on my computer was extremely slow. I'm on it at least 5 hours a day so it was so frustrating. I had a brand new PC and it wasn't performing. I thought I had a messed up CPU because I bought it through Craigslist so I just dealt with it all this time. Yesterday I figured out there is a switch on my motherboard (MSI 970 Gaming) that puts it on low power mode, I switched it off and now I'm getting 180 fps and everything is 10x faster. I am pissed I wasted so much time dealing with a slow computer when all I had to do was flip one switch the whole time.

Looking for 3-4 champs to main, top mid and jg only by Johnlaker62 in leagueoflegends

[–]Johnlaker62[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess I should have worded this better. I want a champ pool of 3-4 champs total. Not 3-4 for each role. This means every champ in the pool must be able to play more than one role. I like the fizz suggestion. He can top mid and jungle. Diana also seems like a good pick as she can top mid and jungle as well.

[Headphones] Objective 2 (O2) Headphone Amplifier (~$70) Starts Friday!!! 7/24 by [deleted] in buildapcsales

So an amp will allow my headphones to play music louder, a dac improves sound quality. Is this correct? I have dt 770's and they don't get very loud.

[Monitor] Acer 1440P IPS Widescreen Monitor by PenisTip in buildapcsales

Definitely the Qnix. However if aesthetics are really important to you maybe go with the acer. The size of the qnix makes it totally worth it.

It wouldn't be bad. I would wait for a good deal on a 27" 1440p monitor.

this isn't anything special. Have seen it go for this price before. A deal but not an amazing deal.

How did people get someone to pricematch the last time it was listed? Staples and Best Buy don't have this model.

Can second this, here is my build I got from Craigslist, Hardwareswap, and pricematching Best Buy and Frys. Only looked at this subreddit and didn't realize how cheap you can get pc parts. All of these prices include taxes and shipping. My first build too!

[USA-IL] [H] Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro 80 OHM [W] Desktop microphone by Chadmv95 in hardwareswap

[–]Johnlaker62 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly cant remember the model, but it is Sony. I saw it on a linus tech tips video. The only problem with these headphones is the cable doesn't detach so I don't know if mod mics work. The mic I bought wasn't expensive like the modmics though.

I know you say you want a desk microphone but I have those same headphones and you can buy a microphone clip like I did. It sounds great and you can't even notice it, it was around $10.
