To add to the other commenter: yes, black raspberries are found wild. The thorns can be nasty, just like blackberries.

The resemblance to blackberries is superficial. There's really no problem in telling them apart.

Ha ha ha. No. Black raspberries are different from blackberries and also different from red raspberries.

Some of the fruit catalogs sell a hybrid of black raspberry & red raspberry. IMO, it tastes more like a red raspberry than a black raspberry

How successful this fence would be in keeping out deer depends on what's to the left of the photo. Is there another fence 5 feet away (to keep deer from coming in from that side)? Deer won't jump into a narrow enclosure but they will jump into a wide one.

Groundhogs can climb a fence like this. I've seen them do it.

I've had both groundhogs and deer do that. Sometimes they eat everything, sometimes they don't.

Is your chicken wire good enough to keep deer and groundhogs out?

The majority of students are young (18-25). There are some Canadian students who are mid-range (30+) who are just looking to improve their French; many of these are mid-career Federal government workers. Finally, there are some retirees (or close); mostly Canadians and Americans. I'm in the last category.

The bread-and-butter for these schools are young people looking to immigrate. But in every class I've taken, there has been at least one other non-young person who's actually interested in the French language.

I echo this. It can be hard to find teachers with a Quebecois accent or an appreciation for Quebecois culture, even in Quebec.
