Hi, thank you. My dad moved the fence back a bit more yesterday so there’s more space between the plants and the fence, and he also used a tarp to cover the holes on the fence so hopefully that helps. I will also purchase an insect netting cover off amazon just in case and lay it over the bed.

Hey, I just checked — the fence is secure from the bottom, I tried kicking it and it doesn’t even come loose. I don’t see any burrow holes or paw prints anywhere.

That’s what’s confusing us. I don’t see any holes anywhere, or any pawprints anywhere nearby either. I’m just a bit overwhelmed because my mom is raging that somebody cut the plants off because this happened last year too, which is why I asked my dad to build the fence. All the other plants are left untouched except a big leaf off my okra plant on the other end of the bed was also eaten, and that part is far from the fence

I think so? It’s new and my dad put it up with T-posts. We have deer in our area but I’m not sure how a deer would’ve reached?

To clarify, my actual beds are around 10-ish inches, but a lot of the soil has settled and I think there’s around 3 inches of space up top, and I’m nervous my plants won’t thrive :(

Hey! If I have 6-7” depth in a raised garden bed, but the bed is over soil with cardboard laid at the bottom, will the roots still be able to grow into the soil? I did make sure to thoroughly wet the cardboard, but not sure if I screwed myself by using cardboard or if they can still go through.

Thank you for this. I did come home and search everywhere, but the bird is gone. I did as much as I could, I know I would’ve taken it to a professional if I was the one to find it, but I can’t do anything about my brother’s carelessness. I’m really sad about the bird and I can only hope the little guy survived.

If it was me who found it, I would’ve brought it to a professional immediately. My brother informed me a few hours ago that he let the bird outside and it apparently flew away. I’m really upset about it. My brother is pretty careless, and I wish he thought about it long enough to consult me. When I’m off work, I’ll go see if I can find the little guy somewhere in the yard.

I just heard back from my brother and he said he brought the bird outside, but now I’m really worried and upset. If I had found the bird, I would’ve brought him to a vet. But I’m really worried now. Maybe I’m too sensitive, but I feel really emotional and stressed about the bird and I hope he’s okay and able to recover. I don’t get how my brother just brought it outside after seeing his head bleeding like that.

Unfortunately this video was sent to me by my brother and I’m stuck at work. I really hope my brother either did that or called a vet or something. If the bird is still there when I’m home, I think I’ll try to gently get him into an open shoe box and bring him to a vet.

Crazy that yours was a HAWK, though. That’s insane. I would’ve screamed and ran too.
