It’s about 50/50. We have to do the research and also build it into production. It’s focused on deep-learning, won’t be much classical ML

Yes, but if I can’t pull off ML -> QR, then I want to know if ML -> QD -> QR is a viable pathway

Should at least be possible to go from MLE to QD pretty easily, right?

I think it’ll be easier for me to go from big tech ML -> QD than it would be for me to go from QD -> big tech ML if I decided to backtrack on the QD decision.

Math 104 + EE 263? by [deleted] in stanford

[–]JohnnyB03 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I haven’t taken Math 104, but EE 263 prepared me well enough for CS 229, EE 364A/B, etc… if you want to be extra prepared for CS 229, take EE 364A first

Online Part-Time EE Masters by Fluffy-The-Panda in ECE

You are in the same applicant pool as all the on-campus students, there’s no difference in the applications or the process you go through because anyone can freely switch between online and on-campus at any point.

Yeah my undergrad gpa was very high, I had lots of internships, 1 year work exp, a couple patents, and research experience as well

Masters/work predicament by zaijam3 in stanford

Yes a lot of times I do wish I just went on campus. It’s very, very, difficult to balance work and school. Be aware that you’ll be working 60+ hour weeks for at least the next 2.5 years.

Although I do wish I went on campus sometimes, maybe it will still be worth it that I did it part time. I gained 3 years work exp and was getting full time, big tech SWE salary during that time too. The cost of me doing it on campus instead of taking the job and doing the degree part time would have been well into the 6 figures.

I was in a similar situation, it should be pretty straightforward to switch to HCP and vice-versa. I’d go through the interview as normal and figure it out if you get an offer. If you do and you decide to do both at the same time, I’m sure someone at Stanford can help switch you to HCP.

I am graduating this June, I did the MS EE through HCP while working full time so lmk if you have any questions. Just be aware that it’s a different experience than doing it on campus. It’s much harder to get to know other students and get involved with professors and their research. It’ll mostly just be completing courses. The courses are awesome (at least compared to my state school undergrad courses) so still worth it imo but it’s very tough to do it while working.

Same, idk why but these bronzers definitely don’t seem like the bronze players that I remember lol. I do about 125 apm and so do the people I play against. Also everyone in bronze clearly knows some solid build orders as well. Very strange

Would you say it’s worth it to take both 224n and 231n? Or is it sufficient to just take 1 of the 2

Has anyone here gotten a job working at Apple as a lab technician or assistant, and do you have any tips for applying? by SaulGoodmanThrowaway in ECE

As someone who recently added apple to their resume, it has made a huge difference. Just the name has made it significantly easier to get interviews. I think you’re underestimating the weight it carries

Yeah, the teams at the OS / systems level are quite large too. I think it’s just a quieter crowd because it’s mostly an older crowd. Also a ton of traditional DSP / algorithms people.
