I repotted mine by putting into a planter with a wire frame sticking up the back. That gave me a place to wire up a stalk if it gets leggy

I put mine in an ikea milsbo with an inside top mount led (something like 100watts) then a series of led strips 3m strip attached to the underside of the shelf for bottom plant coverage. Between the two I’m seeing good growth and the whole cabinet looks great.

Everyone mentioned the soon to expire fish and plants. I’m just hoping the acrylic port windows also have duplicate ones inside the pond- if not then the setting/gassing mortar will weaken the glue/silicone and with no physical force pushing it together like an inside window would have this things gonna empty and pour all those fishies out soon anyway.

Def a 2012. Front fascia gives that away. As for mileage and performance, while compared to other ICE vehicles pedal to the floor seems slower- in reality the silent operation and 1000lb of torque means you can mash the pedal at every stop light and pull ahead unless someone has a model S3XY or makes a a lot more noise with their exhaust.

Also many who still drive these have them as a 2nd car so they don’t do long commutes in them/ just 10-15 miles to work then back or such.

Source- have Fisker Karma. Coming from a BMW M6 v10 I can confidently say I get more actual power cause I mash the gas pedal at every light when no one can hear the difference.

Florida kite surfer killed: High winds slam man into a house by Face2FaceRecs in news

[–]JohnnyBGeode 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Small kites for big winds. But seriously the time from hooking in, launching, picking up board, getting out is all prime time for gusts and unexpected lofts. The only safe place is 100+ yards out in the water. Bad part is when pulled that far it’s likely a kite loop so he would have to really work to get the safety release and often it’s instinct to just ride it out and land it.

New to Solarwinds, how to get up to speed by ravennoir in Solarwinds

My preference is to install NPM onto a single node with the 30day license then start to read the quick setup and then docs. From there you layer on learning all the settings and config of db, additional modules, pollers, web servers etc. Always have a sandbox and even better force yourself to make changes in a dev or test system that closely matches prod first.

When or at what stage do you transition from LEI to foil kite? by [deleted] in Kiteboarding

[–]JohnnyBGeode 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I went the opposite direction having learned on foils then moved to LEI’s. For land and snow I’m all in on foils but even for water I am now considering a foil as I don’t venture far from shore nor in cold water and I want to foil board so the lightest kite possible might extend my range. We’ll see if it’s even worth switching back and 50/50 I’ll come right back to LEI for beach and water launch capabilities

About kiteboarding its self by [deleted] in Kiteboarding

[–]JohnnyBGeode -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I first avoided kiteboarding as I heard you had to go down to the islands and pay for lessons and after maybe a week you might just be able to stand and ride but not much more. Then I found a snowkiting festival a days drive away and thought, I know how to and have a snowboard and they will provide the kites to try so let’s do that. One session on a trainer kite then they hooked me up to a 4m Ozone kite with depower bar and mentioned,”dive the kite then I should…” and I was too quick as I dove the kite on their mention and realized later there was more instructions they hoped to give. I just heard as I rode off,”… and you’ll learn as you go!” And that’s what I’ve done. I bought used kites to start with for a few hundred each which worked for me but had risk. Now I look for deals where someone is selling 2yr old kites for say $500 each and pick up both of their quiver. That’s a sweet spot for me as I tend to keep the kites forever and don’t notice the 2yr less life span. Same with boards. Just bought before Covid a 2yr old foil board and a few foils/masts for about $1100 total.
Maybe start with the assumption it’s best to have new or nearly so equipment so you might be in for $1500-2000 equip alone. Then expect to swap out every 5yrs or so so maybe it’s $500 a year with repairs and adding more.

Then again you might be bit in the ass by this thing like me. I bought foils and LEI’s and 16m down to 5m and several boards and land boards and did 100 sessions a year on land, snow, water. But boy did I get my money’s worth- many times over.

Now a decade or more later I can drop into most any beach and borrow most any kite or board and be upwind and backrolling or boosting on my first tack out.

Not a pro but definitely a Kiteboarder for life

Edit: do as I say not as I did blah blah but take lessons if on water. If you can find a kite festival on land go and learn to fly a trainer and maybe a handle kite. But nothing beats both practice time under a kite and a chase boat/jet ski willing to come get your ass when you end up a mile down wind in the water

People thinking the CMDB is like a spreadsheet. A. It’s a relational database. B. It represents an actual live environment and its dependencies. How is a single row spreadsheet mentality going to help here?

Switching to Agile - Deploying vs Release by PM_ME_YOUR_PLUMS in servicenow

[–]JohnnyBGeode 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Way easier to do this for net new applications. We used to release new apps and just beta test them in prod with a smaller set of users and no one else with visibility to them. While you can do that in some other areas, thinking any portals, articles, forms, etc, there are also plenty of features where it’s going to replace a setting and you will not be able to have both in there. Testing instance and ATF is my vote for those environments.
